Esoterik and dxrvo are DJ and Producer from Germany, Hannover. They run a label called Kollektiv Synergie with friends. There they release every Thursday a podcast series with international artists. also you can find some releases there. Esoterik stands out for fast and driving techno. dxrvo loves hypnotic, groovy and fast minimalistic techno. The mix is a mixture of both. Esoterik has made some releases on Synergie. This week we are joined by J. Maikel. He's a passionate record collector with a wide varying taste for soundscapes, all the way from minimal grooves onto late 90s & early 00s oriented techno, tribal, house and even gabber.
Besides his development as an artist, J. Maikel is also the co-founder of ‘s-Hertogenbosch based techno platform @osu.rhythms, which he runs with his best friend @alloctone. Their goal is to revive the techno scene in their city by sharing tracks, having their own podcast series and hosting club nights at @club.kade. In this mix you will find a lot of old school tracks & fast transitions.

After a couple of weeks our beloved mix series is back on your feed! Today we welcome non other than Mental Duality a duo formed by Noah Benlloch and Franklin Santos based in Madrid 🇪🇸. They decided to embark on a project that would combine their way of understanding music to take it to its maximum expression and in just over a year they have been able to consolidate themselves and show great shape.

They own the Hölleclub collective and label and are also residents of the @loopstage collective, renowned emerging events of the Madrid nightlife. Their sessions are characterized by seeking constant dynamism, not confining themselves to a single genre, but where percussive rhythms are the protagonists.

Their influences in music are very marked by the techno of the 2000s, wanting them to contribute their creativity to be able to give it a twist, as is reflected both in their sets and in their productions.

AZIL found and shaped her sound in 2022, when she just started playing more uptempo and driving sound. A large part of her inspiration here is the community, the experiences on the floor and all what is around.
Through wisely selected rhythms of different decades, she is creating a juicy atmosphere on the floor. ▻ You are originally from Munich, and now you live in Berlin, what brought you there?

I moved to Berlin for my masters but I loved the city since I was a child. Together with my passion for techno it just made sense to move there.

▻ Where did you have your last gig and how was it?

My last gig was Anomalie Art Club in Berlin for a privat event. It was fun but I‘m looking forward to play a clubnight someday. 

▻ You produce your own music in the meantime, how do you always start there and with what equipment do you have for it at the start?

I start with the kick and bassline, add a synth and fill the tracks with drums. I use an analog four a tr8s and ableton live to make my music. 

▻ What's on your musical agenda for 2023?

Finishing my first EP.

▻ I heard you go out a lot, what are your favorite clubs?

Berghain, RSO and ELSE.

02 ▲ PHIlI

Locus Error is a techno DJ from Nijmegen who already made quite a name for herself. With her groovy, uplifting techno and bouncy basslines, she already won over many audiences. This she proves with her residencies for Planet Rose, Open Source Radio and BALANS, but also with performances for Thuishaven, Bauhauz and for Artdictive in Radion.
Her performances show a passion for music that started as an 8-year-old cellist at a music school in Belgium. A passion that she expresses, among other things, in the event and record label BALANS that she runs together with Tripeo and also shows in the way in which she has helped Soundlab, the first DJ and producer student association in the Netherlands, rise to a higher level.
Be enchanted by her musical, but no less gruesome techno beats!
