Following standout appearances on Feel My Bicep, Unknown To The Unknown, and E-MISSIONS, Irish-born DJ/producer Cromby hits Rekids with a four-track EP of crisp techno cuts. Heavily utilising the sound of hardware across the release, ‘Twisted Future EP’ sees Cromby explore the depths of these classic sound palettes over robust techno frameworks. 

‘IXP-42’ brings crunching drums and wiggling synths together for over two minutes, building tension before eventually, the much-awaited bassline comes in thick and fast. ‘Follow The Bass’ brings a dose of the unusual to proceedings, with snaking FM leads modulating throughout a maze of sizzling percussion.

On the flip, Bleep meets Baltimore on ‘Relief’, with meaty acid lines, vocals and clattering drums sparring with each other across the track, while ‘Vortex’ rounds off the release, with bright shimmering stabs peppering the stomping drums and distinct squelch of the 303.

Their first joint release "International Licence" on Filburt's label O*RS sounds accordingly pleasantly balanced and mature. The two Distillery residents focus on a music genre that has unfortunately and unjustly received less attention lately: Deep House. The three original tracks are universally applicable due to their stripped-down, Detroit-inspired timeless sound. From the most underrated slot of the DJ craft, the warm-up, to the early morning hours: The 909's spellbinding, pumping force will do its job. On the remix duties is highly talented Lea Lisa from the Wolf Music fame. For her 303 Mental Remix she adds an irresistible acid bassline (quelle surprise) and creates probably the most peak time-affine tune of the whole EP. The musical conceptual journey of the Bliss EP by the young artist Dante (@dante_pd) starts with the question "Where should I go"? One or the other will have asked themselves this question more than once and was not always able to answer it immediately. It is sometimes a long way to your own happiness, which does not always lead straight and is peppered with many questions. This path is drawn by Dante with atmospherically driving chords and pads in combination with floating basses and swirling melodies. The soundscape is accompanied by crisp drums that range from jungle to house beats across genres. The powerful sound provides a very unique drive and bliss. @modem39

Exclusive: Tom Frankel - Obvious Choice

Tom Frankel has been releasing versatile music on labels Shall Not Fade, Oleeva, Music Related and his own imprint Shellers. Aside from own production Frankel is part of the duo Frankel and Harper releasing Garage with a modern groove and twist on their common label Council Worx. For his latest solo-release Frankel delivers three original tracks for SY's E&X Records exploring musical deeper and progressive territories yet showing the more melodic and softer side of his producer-nature. The EP’s title track Obvious Choice is a break-esque proggy House tune with catchy pads and slightly broken beats that give a hint to uptempo progressive pieces from the noughties. Basically a track that is, as the track title suggests, an obvious choice for a club-set as it skillfully guides dancers to and on the dancefloor.
