Kaya Project LIVE feat. Irina Mikhailova. Kaya Project is the world fusion collective spearheaded by U.K. producer / Composer Seb Taylor, having released Eight Albums mostly on Canadian Label Interchill Records, with numerous appearances on Compilations such as Claude Challe’s Buddha Bar Series & Six Degrees’ World Traveller series. Encompassing original studio sessions & field recordings captured throughout India, North Africa & The Middle East, Kaya Project is truly a vibrant melting pot of influences. Seb is regularly joined on stage by World renowned Kazhaksthani Vocalist Irina Mikhailova, whose sublime vocal performances graced the very first Kaya Project track & have been present in each of the Albums since the bands Inception.

Mysteries of the Deep LXVII - A STRANGELY ISOLATED PLACE | WINDOWS AT MIDNIGHT

Individually both Sahar Z and Navar have both released on Guy J's infamous Lost & Found, and now they collaborate and bring us 5 gems on this fine imprint.

We are treated to several styles here on this EP, and we begin with the beautiful title track 'Morning Thoughts 4 U'. An ambient soundscape of beauty, as we are treated to dreamy pads, moving vocal samples, combined with cool production.

'Lost in Draws' is next, and we go straight to the dance-floor for this one. An air of restraint surrounds proceedings, as a crisp yet simple groove unfurls, and melodic layers are gently lowered on to its musical frame, creating depth and warmth.

Taking the energy levels up with 'Reality Check', we are treated to a rounded winner that melts some more melodic sounds, with cut up vocals, some swaggering beats and nu-disco style bass, all culminating in a smile inducing winner.

'Bloom' continues the musical smorgasbord of delights, as a haunting melancholic voyage expands. Deep and driving, yet shrouded in warmth. Uber cool.

To round things off is 'When We Face Reality'. A moody beatless emotive journey, that has almost church-like qualities, with haziness and a floaty feel,  with the warmth of the sunshine shining through the window.

An ambient-ambiance tape experience by two promising new acts from different sides of P-Earth.

With their self-titled debut last year on Total Stasis, CS + Kreme’s leftfield, ambient pop took us by surprise and turned out to become one of our favorite, rinsed home-records from 2016. With a handful of gigs so far exclusively in the open air of Melbourne, the duo, consisting of Conrad Standish and Samuel Karmel (also part of F Ingers), team up again for this release to jam together a bubbly, hypnotizing lullaby before venturing off into a warped dreamscape around the 10 minute mark. On the B-side Vancouver-via-Kaifeng resident Yu Su cleanses the body, mind, and soul with Little Forest. Yu, one-half of You’re Me who previously released Plant Cell Division, combines beautiful snares, easy-going percussion, lush synths, and downtempo beats with a clear message: Chill-out...

Where some people participate in a gong bath for therapeutic reasons, 'Express Point', and much of Matthew Hayes' debut LP, would serve as a fitting replacement. Wind chimes and recordings of running water having a calming influence, and at 8 minutes, there's plenty of time for the dense soundscape to evolve: glistening melodies are introduced throughout but it's only when the lead synth enters around the 5 minute mark that the track's realises its full, soul-stirring potential.
