Summertime is "BBQ Techno" time -  for the third season already, we present a summerly selection of open air guarantor out of our repertoire, tracks from upcoming releases, as well as several exclusives for your outdoor BBQ and dancing pleasure.

From the upcoming releases, we have selected one title from the next Holtoug release called "Noisy Nights". The original was released Denmark-exclusive on the small but fine label Fake Diamond. For our release, Holtoug has developed the more clubbish "Dizzy Days" version, which we will present on this sampler. On the single which will be released in early autumn, you will also find an outstanding Kollektiv Turmstrasse remix. 
With "End" we will showcase a very talented artist from Russia called Koett. His submission is an oldschoolish UK-Breatbeat-hommage which will destroy some dancefloors for sure. On top, we are happy to announce one title from Noraj Cue's first release on Connaisseur. This gifted fellow from the Netherlands, who has already provided a title for our Livingroom Techno 3 sampler, delivers  a Connaisseur blueprint track called "Burning Eyes". Deep, touching and full of wonderful melodies.

As exclusives, we kick off the compilation straight away with a lovely indie-electronic song by Raw Verse feat. C.Layne, one the projects of Marco Effe, who will also drop a release on Connaisseur later this year. The second exclusive is the tender "I Don't Want It" by the talented danish duo Mr. Leman & Thomas Dieckmann. Next up is Terje Saether feat. Mari N Petterson from Norway with a wonderful Pop-Techno lullaby called "Good Night". As a special exclusive we are more than happy to present one of the most requested tracks from the Michael Mayer's Resident Advisor podcast from earlier this year. Jobe's "Got Me" was only available on vinyl on a very limited UK pressing so far . On BBQ Techno 3 he will hit the digital market for the first time with this stand-out tune. To round up the selection, as a closing title we chose the stirring "Overflow" by another russian fellow called Freska, guaranteeing a massive goose flesh attack.

In what one could probably call "the lost remixes", we unearthed two unpublished cuts which fell to the roadside for any number of inane reasons that we have forgotten since. What we didn't forget, however, is how damn fine these reworks are. Take for example MICHAEL MAYER's take on KAITO's "Behind My Life", an obvious highlight on both Kaito's EP and full-length offerings last year, but as the rest of his work not really lending itself to radical remix treatments - the typical ambience of a Kaito track is too delicate, it seems, for the good ole "let's stick a fatter bass drum underneath it and be gone" routine. That's when you realize how masterful a remixer Michael Mayer actually is, turning the epic soundscapes of the original inside out and into a relentlessly grooving house stomper. The melodic break is where it's at on this one, giving them punters ample space to get truly lost in sound. The flipside holds its own set of surprises with SASCHIENNE's ingenious boogie reboot of MOHN's "Saturn" off their 2012 debut album. Originally a kind of kraut-infused synth jam with all the time in the world for the contemplation of infinite truths and the possibility of space travel, it has now become a tightly knit space cowboy opera full of special effects and exciting laser shootouts. Because you know what they say: a vocoder a day keeps the doctor away.

This “COMPOST 500 – Freshly Composted” episode includes previously unreleased tracks and remixes by Siren, Mark E, Mathias Schaffhäuser, Claudio Ricci & Megablast, SHOW-B, Robinn, Marbert Rocel, Emilie Nana and Compost Allstars (consisting of Christian Prommer, Beanfield’s Jan Krause, Roland Appel and Michael Reinboth) featuring Robert Owens and others.

#2 SOME MICHAEL REINBOTH FAVOURITES
In this chapter, our label head Michael Reinboth picked some of his fave tunes from the Compost back catalogue, including the works of Carl Craig, Âme, John Talabot, Todd Terje, Moonstarr, Jay Shepheard, Beanfield, A Forest Mighty Black and more. Of course there are much more, but those timeless tracks played a significant role in the Compost history.

#3 HIDDEN GEMS
The third chapter of COMPOST 500 points out a selection of top B-sides, secret weapons and undiscovered pearls from the Compost vault.
