I loved this gig so much, even though it was over before I knew it. Playing to an 8000 crowd required a slightly heavier hand in choosing tracks than normally but it was a rock n roll experience that reminded me once again what all those 1000s of hours of learning, practicing, despairing, hoping, struggling were good for - to get the opportunity to connect people with each other and feel the love. It's good, important work.

South London Ordnance is no stranger to the game. The Berlin-based British producer is a real techno stalwart, often venturing into the more mechanical side of the sound. Having released on Hotflush to name but a few, he now returns to his own imprint Aery Metals with four more stomping club cuts. The Tor EP sees SLO work Italo and industrial sounds together to craft a mix of steely, rhythmic techno tracks aimed straight at the dance floor. “You know it's true, don't you?" You know it's true, sometimes emotions can be darn unsettling and disturbing – as they flow deep down our consciousness uncovering fears, thoughts and feelings. Yes, if we're focused too much on our personal hedonistic euphorias, sometimes we lose that... It gets lost; You know it's true. You may know it's true.

Manfredi Romano aka Dj Tennis shapes this treasure, a release that is decisively out of the box; a small cathedral made of subtle shades and unusual EQ's, where ideas seduce and frighten.

That's “Divisions”, led by Danish singer and guitarist Jeppe Kjellberg. Who's words and voice are carefully crafted as a precious, poisoning weapon of concern and bewilderment; as it is “Chirality” a deep, insistent, gelid voyage. Which distinctively in this round, We find ourselves not only with Tennis' masterful production skills but also the astounding addition of Sophie Trudeau's string work – she's been the driving force behind the string sections of legendary Canadian post-rockers Godspeed You Black Emperor, one of the most dark, cinematic and unsettling rock acts of the last decades – which really ads a poignant and visionary mood and emotions we rarely encounter and by that we can rarely breathe.

The original edits have been respectfully and creatively revisited by techno pioneer Roman Flügel, who masterfully rubs “Divisions”; turning it into a sensual, devious, laid down affaire. Lastly, closing the ride , the legendary English duo Plaid - true masters and innovators within the Intelligent Dance Music field- grace “Chirality” with their very own touch made of alien sounds, mutant rhythm architectures, warm dynamics and heartbreaking melodic caresses that iconically represents their visions.

At one point or another the internet brought our attention to a crew in Amsterdam doing parties and releasing music under an eerily similar name - Beesmunt Soundsystem. A suspect reaction quelled as the photos of two handsome, tastefully dressed, and beach-chillin gingers appeared... their names: David van der Leeuw & Luigi Vittorio Jansen. Without much to go on, we kept an ear out as they romanced the world with beautiful tunes on labels we loved. They also took their seemingly Californian style approach to tempos and synth-work into the Red Light Radio studio where they do a regular show that never disappoints. For Honey fans, you know what happened next, the boys got in touch after seeing our label making waves and sent us the last 12" we put out - Sensual Works. Since then we have met in person and listened to so many of their radio shows we BEGGED them to make one for us. So, here it is BSS Radio on HSS Potcast !

Slowly but slowly back on it here fam, it's been quite the ride so far these past weeks and months for us all. While taking a break from protesting injustice and wrapping up a few new studio projects, laid this mix down during a moment of serene quarantine. An ambient-not-ambient mix of new music to vibe inside to, with twists of emotional current states and occasional rhythmic cameos. May it help you contemplate and find meditative states, to recenter, realign, and recharge for the work ahead that must be done.
