Marquis Hawkes is back on Houndstooth with a considerable punch, ladies and gents. After a string of tuff-as-nail releases on the imprint — including Sweet and Raw Materials — his debut album is now complete. 

Social Housing, as you'll soon learn, is an ode to not-for-profit, association-managed social housing in Berlin; a system that us Brits could learn a thing or two from, but that's another matter. "Fantasy" does exactly what it says on the tin, providing the sonic equivalent of someplace euphoric and sun-splashed during mid-August. Although firmly four-to-the-floor territory, the funk and disco influences are hard to ignore here. Cascading hi-hats, shiny arp work and detuned trumpet blares all coalesce to make this a real jam. That and those chopped-up vocals that Todd Edwards would appreciate.

This is very much Hawkes' own though; soulful and jacking in all the right amounts, and part of a project that's been two years in the making. It comes complete with artwork that's as thought out and auroral. Drawn from a photo taken by Hawkes’ wife in East Berlin, Alan Oldham's (aka DJ T-1000) visual accompaniment is spot on.

Marquis Hawkes' debut album arrives on June 10 2016. Sooth your ears with "Fantasy" until then.

For the third offering on Gottwax we have compiled another 4 tracks cut to bright orange wax enlisting the help of long term friends Bonar Bradberry, Appleblim, Ponty Mython and Krywald & Farrer.

​First a producer that needs no introduction​,​ ​Appleblim kicks things off with ‘Phosphene’ - a glistening and pensive opener that drives a rubbery sequence under loose-limbed drum patterns. Next, ​o​ne half of PBR Streetgang, ​Bonar Bradberry​ follows up with ‘MOD’ - a languid, marching groove that perfectly soundtracks the embers of early doors and carries with it a beguiling quality.

On the flip, Ponty Mython follows up records on Dirt Crew, Swedish Brandy and Russia’s Capital Bass with the low-slung and highly danceable ‘Ruddy’s Loop’. Dissected jungle-esque drum breaks and a jazzy double bass line are melded together before Silver Bear and Percolate affiliates Krywald & Farrer blow some warm tropical air into the package with ‘Innacamo’. Jubilant African vocals and a heated, persistent bass line keep progress bustling forwards as Gottwax cap off another rich and varied offering adding another fine addition to their series.

Icona Pop and electronic duo Louis the Child have teamed up for a new song called "Weekend." They've shared a video for the song, in which Icona Pop sing as a group of youths—shirtless, rowdy, free—enjoy the titular weekend. Watch it below. "We work hard and play hard, we are constantly jet lagged and we do things at weird times," Icona Pop said in a statement. "This song is about our beautiful chaos that we think a lot of people can relate to." Louis the Child shared a statement, too: “The idea for this song was started on a cruise ship, developed in an airport, and finished with a bunch of friends in the studio. Music is a non-stop lifestyle.”

Belgian in origin, Igor Vicente and DkA join forces to create two monster tracks for their 'Haus Boo EP' on Hot Creations. Championed by Jamie Jones, Lee Foss and Richy Ahmed it arrives hot on the heels of Hot Creations’s Paradise events series announcement for Ibiza 2016, this is music made for those heady nights on the DC10 terrace.

On the A-side is 'Haus Boo' which the guys created after being inspired by the all time classic The House Master Boyz and The Rude Boy Of House 'House Nation'. Taking the release into a much darker realm is 'Shady' with a seriously addictive beat, endless high-hats and relentless snares.

Infatuated with music from a young age, Igor Vicente founded the Belgian Wildfamily Parties in which Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, Dinky and Matthew Styles among others have all played. Some years later he formed one half of Ultrasone, and has released on Get Physical, Mobilee and Hot Creations multiple times. These days you can catch him playing at one of his two residencies in Belgium, Cafe d'Anvers and Fuse, and founding the label State of Flow.

DkA has his roots firmly placed in the house music scene and has taken his sounds all over Europe, whilst releasing on Get Physical Music, Mobilee Records and Play Label Records to name just a few.
