Liverpool born John Murphy began scoring movies at the age of 25. In 2001, following the success of Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch, he moved to Los Angeles.

Since then he has worked with some of the industry's most respected and luminary filmmakers, including Michael Mann, Danny Boyle, Guy Ritchie, Stephen Frears, and James Gunn, producing film scores as prominent and diverse as Sunshine, Kick-Ass, The Suicide Squad, and the seminal 28 Days Later.

After Kick-Ass Murphy set up the record label Taped Noise and began work on several non-movie projects. His latest film ‘The Suicide Squad’, with James Gunn for Warner Bros, will be released on August 6.

I am producer from Helsinki Finland. Music came to my life as child,at begining of 80´ies by playing clarinet, piano and with classical music studies. While growing up with Amiga 500 ( ;) ) first electronic musical experiments came along at 90s. I started producing 2007 with Moog, couple of other synths etc.

My profession is tv-film editor so listening soundtracks at work maybe affects my own music too.
