Relationships continuously changed: some people came and went, other acquaintances exited and entered our circles, but real friendships always stood the test of time. Whether in disparate places or on different trajectories, your day ones remained — no matter how many weeks, months or years were spent apart, nothing seemed to change. You simply pick up where you left off.

Berlin's Warning Records kick off 2022 with a split EP from a few day oners: Giraffi Dog and Henry 3000, with extra production sparkle from Erik Jäähalli and DJ Hummer. In signature Warning style the 12" balances hands-in-the-air euphoria and slick electro hip hop jams, opening with our pick of the bunch from Giraffi Dog & Erik Jäähalli: an anthemic rave cut which has been doing the rounds in Warning circles.

Born in Germany with French origin, @mariemontexier's preferred format as a DJ is vinyl, a crucial part of why she began DJing and collecting music. 

Curious about genres and styles, multi-eclectic influences informs her sound. Her sets, mainly based on breakbeat and big on UK flavour, are global melting pots where genres and edges blur; oldskool acid, tribal-scented beats and trippy techno merge here. Marie brings a twisted quirkiness, lightening up a sometimes harsh-sounding corner of the scene.

Although new in the industry, Marie Montexier’s hard work has not gone by unnoticed: during her debut year of 2019, she was selected “Newcomer of the Year” by German music institution Groove Magazin, an honor for any artist. Since then, Marie went on to play venues across Europe, including the likes of Berghain and Fabric, and currently holds a residency at internationally renowned party Warning, taking place in Berlin.

"This only vinyl mix is a club mix from summer 2021, a time when we had the chance to experience club culture together again. Usually I’m more into breaks, bass and techno but here I bring a lot of power house and acid into the mix. And don't be too sad, winter is here but summer will come again and we will be able to dance together again. Until then, enjoy the time with the music at home. - x"

The sound and the selection of the Leipzig based DJ and producer Janthe moves between house and acid as well as 90’s progressive house and trance influences. She is a resident DJ at the club Institut fuer Zukunft in Leipzig and also part of the female DJ collective G-Edit.

Robert Radziejewski:
Robert Radziejewski is a graphic designer from Berlin where he studied at the university of the arts and developed his style between the rigid and grid-based, more organic and fluid shape-language. While working mostly for the cultural fields between music, art and fashion he puts focus on typographic systems and experimental image-making while constantly redefining his own voice.

We proudly present the 10th episode of Blank Wave with a very special and talented guest: Xpresso Martina aka Charlot van Heeswijk is a queer newcomer DJ and founder of R27 collective. 

In 2023 they became a resident at Berlin based EBM label Crave Tapes.  Inspired by an eclectic taste, their track selection stands out for its energetic blend of moods and contrasting genres ranging from Italo, Dark Disco, Synth Wave, New Beat and EBM to Indie Dance and lighter shades of House. When not digging for music, they work as a freelance filmmaker and photographer.
