MODULAR EXPANSION PODCAST #152 | EARWAX

Originally from Paris, SOD-90 started producing alongside his studies as a flutist at the renewed university of classical music from Berlin. Combining his knowledge from a wide range of musical backgrounds with his experience as a professional instrumentalist, he crafted an intense sound, characterised by noisy textures, scorching synth lines, with distorted drums and twisted vocals. All this added to complex and dynamic arrangements.

After only a few years since he started producing, SOD-90 has already been supported by some of the biggest names on the scene and has released on Avoidant, Bipolar Disorder records, Emotional Voyage, with more in the pipeline very soon. He intends to continue exploring creative approaches to production, aiming to evolve his style towards an increasingly powerful and unconventional aesthetic.

Dave Ellesmere began life in Southport, UK as a hardcore punk drummer in the venerable band Discharge, who have seen covers by none other than Metallica. Subsequently, he developed an affection for classic Detroit and Chicago styles of techno, and lists DJ performances at festivals like Awakenings, Welcome to the Future, Tomorrowland and Mysteryland. Dave is a producer that operates the outstanding Belief System record label and has two techno albums on Heiko Laux’s Kanzleramt, as well as releases on Sven Väth’s Cocoon and Radio Slave’s Rekids. In addition, he has also collaborated with 2000 and One on hit club tracks for 100% Pure, to having notable admirers such as Jeff Mills and DJ Rush. This exclusive mix is unsurprisingly a raunchy percussion workout with full-throttle, rolling grooves and interesting hook highlights brimming in energy. David Reina, Born in Cordoba, South of Spain. His musical career began in the mid 90´s after having involved in Hip Hop for a few years. In 1997 he began involved in Electronic music and more specially in Techno, Feeling attracted for the Underground Scene.

After a Decade playing around Spain and Twice in the United States, and having shared stage with international artist in numerous venues and events he decided to study music production and sound technician. Releasing His music on labels such as: Subsist, Main Concept, Rhod, Gynoid Audio, Inductriall, Dark Forest, Methodical... Just to name a few.

In 2018, He started his own Record Label called Legend 1997 Records, focused on sci-fi, Minimalistic Techno, and Cinematic Soundscapes, With Thirteen releases so far.

Alberto Serrano, also known as Biorc, is a Spanish DJ and producer based in Madrid. His first encounters with techno date back to 2016, where he starts DJing. It's finally in 2018 when he decides to refine his musical selection and showcase it in his DJ sets, which are filled with forcefullness and intensity

As a producer, he has signed EPs on labels such as Airsound, Illegal Alien, Concepto Hipnotico, or Newrhytmic. Biorc also is the co-owner of Ethnic Meeting Recs, where he works as a mastering engineer
