The Houston-born beats archivist Gaddy returns to The Rust Music with another sidewalk-stomping project, the five-track Foodtruck Fugitive. Approaching electronic music via the back-door of hip-hop, Gaddy possesses one of the most refreshing sounds in alternative electronic music, a beautiful blend of urban Americana and semi-psychedelic bass that sounds both rough and refined on this release. 

With Foodtruck Fugitive Gaddy builds out his beats into fully-fledged compositions that have smooth edges, dark corners, and wide horizons. One minute you’re cooling and rocking a sensual head-nod with some lurky sampled strings. The next minute your mind is gyrating hither and thither, tumbling inside a crashing wave of cerebral bass. After honing in on the essence of his groove, Gaddy takes risks and has fun with it. This calculated yet care-free approach creates music with wide appeal, perfect for pounding the pavement or for spacing out. 

Here is something new for hip-hop heads, and something fresh for electronic fans. And if you listen close enough, you can almost hear the sense of humor of the foodtruck fugitive himself, slinging jokes, tacos, and fat bass beats from behind the fryers.

Many people don't know this about me but I have been going through a really terrible medical situation for the past few years and this story was created to give anyone going through struggles in life some hope. Alone we can go faster but together we can go further. You are not alone. This song sonically narrates the first part of the story. Begin reading below and I hope you enjoy <3

This is a story about 6 humans journeying from their home planet in search of a new place to continue life. This is a story about love. A love so deep that they would do anything to make sure life continues for not only them but their species. This is based off the idea that even the smallest of what is left can generate profound impact and change. When you must risk everything to move forward it is necessary. There are many tests that humans face on a daily basis that require a strength within ourselves to push forward and maintain strength for a larger picture. I hope this story finds you well and that you may feel empowered to push through whatever it is that scares you. Together we must go forward.

With the inevitable star death upon them our travelers start their journey at the edge of their planets atmosphere nearing open space. As they plot their course for a near by solar system, they are reminded of the infinite amount of life that had preceded them on the planet they were currently accelerating off of. All good things must come to an end, but not today for these pioneers. As the near by star continues to expand, holding hands,  they watch as their home planet is engulfed by the radiating orb of thermal energy. Looking at each other they know that together they are all they have. They will push forward and they will find a new home. Setting a course to open space to find this solar system won’t be easy but they are prepared. The star continues to push and expand. The travelers blast off on their journey, holding on to one thing. Love.
