Asking the key questions of (post-)modern society ...

is a very bold move. Douster is down for bold moves. A passion for strategy and a certain political ambition are at the roots of his struggle to raise awareness thru his Booty House music. So it doesn't come as a surprise to us when he, quite frankly, asks: 'Iz U High' 

But not only that. In his art pieces he dares to tackle touchy topics such as 'size' from all kinds of different angles. And yes, he addresses the most fragile cornerstone of our society 'gender'.  'Why Yo Shoe So Big' playfully risks and hence discloses the peaceful co-existence we're almost addicted to.

He wouldn't be Douster though if he wouldn't throw the first 'Stone' to rebuild what he almost tore down. Let's hope he doesn't hit someone's head.

Don't know if you knew, but Curses just came back from the grave recently and we asked him to rephrase 'Iz U High' for us. You can hear his immortal soul. Almost like the sirens singing: Less agitated, more deep - less reproachful, more bass. Mystic Populism? Fuck Yeah.

Damn. Turning all this into something political worked perfectly until Night Drugs brings back the drugs and adds the 2step. So let me sum this up:

There are a few bands that will always make you remember where you were when you first listened to them. The Peruvian masked duo from Lima named Dengue Dengue Dengue is definitely one of those bands. The year was 2012 and Rafael Pereira and Felipe Salmon had just released their debut album ‘La Alianza Profana’, where their unique take on cumbia with dub and techno elements was presented to the world via stunning tracks like Simiolo, and complemented by a vibrant, colorful and psychedelic aesthetic on their videos and live visuals. We were instantly hooked. 

From then on, we knew we had to have Dengue Dengue Dengue on the Enchufada catalog. Fast-forward to the present and the boys have turned in an incredible six-track EP called ‘Serpiente Dorada’, which sees their unique and unmistakable sound develop and grow even further. While the relentless and hypnotic cumbia is still at the core of their sound – as the title-track Serpiente Dorada proudly displays – one can also hear as zouk bass slowly enters the melting pot of influences on Banana or Bugutu, while still managing to sound like no one else. The Jamaican sounds of dub, reggae and dancehall weigh heavily over the whole EP, but it’s in Booom that they make themselves more noticeable, while Rama sees the Peruvian duo leave their comfort zone and experiment with 120BPM beats. Finally, Senen Pani provides the perfect EP closer in the form of a dreamy, rhythmically-charged psychedelic lullaby. 

Perfectly translating the band’s approach to club music, ‘Serpiente Dorada’ is an infectious and colorful mixture of global sounds, as genres are used as a starting point on their ongoing search for the perfect hybrid beat, where the total is more than the sum of its parts.

Pas d’étiquette particulière, que de la bonne musique, dans des styles parfois trop peu médiatisés ou carrément oubliés : Funky, Jackin, Latin, Filtered, Ghetto, Hip ... « Lazy Flow Presents Paris’ House Finest » avec la tour Eiffel comme symbole d’un rayonnement mondial; montrant ce que les « Frenchies » sont encore capables de faire en la matière.

Cet opus n’est pas strictement Parisien pour autant, la banlieue et la province sont également représentés, pas d’élitisme au rendez-­vous. Une quinzaine de titres exclusifs donc autant de producteurs, disponible également sous forme d’une mixtape « à l’ancienne » présentée par un MC host (DSL).

This gives a real “authentic” reggae feel to the project and allows Randy to showcase his versatality as he easily passes from beautiful singing melodies to an energetic “deejay” style.

“Foundation” and “Memory Lane” are 2 other songs praising reggae “classics” and how important it is for each and every one to know about the musical roots of the music and where the culture comes from.

All these tracks are skillfully mixed together by MixCD specialists Straight sound delivering over 40 minutes of pure and soulfull reggae music.
