As we reach our 30th release on the label, Animal Farm is proud to present Stephanie Sykes’ first solo EP since 2016’s effort on Prodigal Son. Those two years have seen her presence in the techno scene explode, with a flurry of appearances across Europe - our own Animal Farm night in Glasgow among them + residencies at Tbilisi’s KHIDI and the infamous after hours Jaded crew in London, Corsica Studios.

Title track ‘Interference’ is an impeccably crafted tool in the vein of her recent DJ sets - boomy in the low end with sweeping peak time sensibilities. It’s a brand of unpretentious techno purism Sykes has become synonymous with, also making her a firm favourite with the Animal Farm crowd. 

‘The electro-informed ‘On The Other Side’ shows a new side to Sykes’ production; contrasting mean drums with opulent synth work to craft something that is simultaneously dreamy and ‘floor effective. The elusive Janice turns his hand to ‘Interference’ on the flip, providing a razor sharp mind-trip of a remix that’s as affirming as it is abrasive.

El productor serbio, que aportó un remix en el sello el pasado año, también es conocido por sus apariciones en sellos como Mord o THEM y que se incorpora a un listado de artistas emergentes como Noneoftheabove, Valura y A Birth Defect que han pasado por el sello de Rebekah. El EP está compuesto por dos temas originales firmados por cada uno de los artistas y sendos remixes. Nosotros hoy te presentamos en exclusiva el tema original de Lag, que cuenta con "feedbacks" fenomenales de artistas como Objekt, Ciel (Discwoman), The Advent o Lucy, entre otros. Oscar Mulero is back home with this intense four tracker, giving a twist to his sound, running into harsher territories, using distortion wisely, going uptempo and focusing directly on those dancing.

Unveiling of reality opens with shuffled elements, obsessive sequences and punchy drum work, assymetrical notes fight in the arrangement going back and forth, attacking every neuronal process.

Out of field is pulsating and spacey, a few elemts swinging together in a wise arrangement.

Wandering nowhere returns to grey and granular terrain, distorted synth lines, super low bass workout, sharpened hats and percussions and darkness as leitmotiv.

Unnoticed absence goes jazzy with unquantised elements, liquid filtered synths,a nd again shuffled beats. A few elements well seasoned to make an ideal mixing tool.

Konsequent Records is a Berlin-based techno label founded in 1997 in Cologne by Maral Salmassi. In the early years, Konsequent was home to some of the first releases by artists like Christian Morgenstern or Alexander Kowalski.
