Amsterdam-based abh & Hoff, the masterminds behind the wonderful "Far Blue" record label and podcast series, curated our latest "Delayed with..." music tale.
Imagine drifting through a moonlit forest dappled with fireflies and the low hum of cicadas. That's the vibe – lulling, dreamy, and alive with subtle magic. Lush atmospheres unfurl like velvet curtains.
Four-on-the-floor rhythms pulse like a steady heartbeat, then melt into broken beats that pirouette like autumn leaves. Familiar names like Shoal and DJ Balduin shimmer like constellations while hidden gems flicker like fireflies and dance with melodies laden with unspoken intrigue.
The mix crescendos and takes a playful detour down an acid-tinged path. Imagine Alice tumbling down a rabbit hole of sound, where playful blips and bloops dance in the stardust. It's a whimsical prelude to the perfect finale – Leafar Legov's "Fade" washes over you like a warm wave, the perfect closing note to this auditory adventure.

This week's Far Blue concept is crafted by the four friends of the UK-based collective and record label, Simpler Times. This one has been long in the making, and the final result is a truly special mix.

‘Reflections Of Things To Come’ is a carefully crafted hour long journey that showcases Simpler Times take on the Far Blue concept. It is inspired by the idea of reflecting on the past while dreaming of the future.

‘We wanted to do something special for this mix, so we decided to record a set made up of unreleased Simpler Times music. We’ve included some older unreleased stuff that has never seen the light of day before alongside some brand new music we produced especially for the mix. We wanted to combine the old with the new to mirror the concept of the mix.’

A Far Blue concept by Simpler Times - 'Reflections Of Things To Come'

jmoy ( @j_moy ) is the musical alias of artist and designer Justin Moy. Influenced by his background in architecture, the Amsterdam-based producer draws analogies between spatial design and musical composition, seeking to tell imaginary spatial narratives through sound.

The music resulting from this is a sonic journey traveling through a sequence of spaces, transitioning between interiors, exteriors, and the thresholds between them.

The first culmination of these sonic and spatial explorations is "Udys," jmoy's debut EP. "Udys" consists of four tracks, each envisioned as a narrative journey through and imaginary world. Atmospheric and rhythmic elements found within field recordings from his environments lay the foundation for each track.
