Heist Recordings regulars and all-time good guys Fouk are back! Their ‘Blue Steel’ EP is filled with their signature grooves, chords and samples and might surprise a few of you out there. The sound design is top notch as always and there’s some rough edges on these tracks for an added bit of depth and personality. Next to that, the boys collaborated with the talented Dutch saxophone player Rebiere, who features on the title track. The EP holds 3 originals and a beautiful remix by Girls of the Internet. We can assure you that this EP on Heist - their fourth on Heist since their critically acclaimed ‘Kill Frenzy’ EP back in 2015 - is one you don’t want to miss.

The EP kicks off with the gritty live jam ‘Blue Steel’, where Rebiere’s saxophone solo is accompanied by a killer bass line and some lovely off-kilter percussion. It’s deep, it’s jazzy and at the same time it’s a track that packs some serious peak-time punch.

‘Don’t you want to Boogie’ ups the tempo and energy and can only be described as a 100% feel good filter-house track. It’s got loops, loops and then some more loops. Mesmerizing, funky and unpretentious: this one is just here to boogie.

The B1 is reserved for the low end thump of the Girls of the internet remix of ‘Blue Steel’. After having released his album ‘Girls FM’ only a few months back and a remix compilation for UNKLE, we’re glad he found the time to work on the remix and deliver this gem of a track. GOTI goes for an eyes shut, dancing-in-your-bedroom version with smooth keys accompanying the sax solo.
Last but not least, ‘Money’ shows yet another side of Fouk’s sound, where we see the boys throwing in some beefed up disco funk. The tongue-in-cheek vocals and the squeaking acid line recorded over at the Dam Swindle studio together make for a track that oozes fun and good vibes.

Here’s to another great Fouk release on Heist and love to all you dancers!

R2 Records are happy to present the first full-length project from Karizma’s alter ego Kaytronik.
From his earliest days as part of Baltimore’s premier crew - The Basement Boys - Kris Klayton was never one to stay in a musical box, always probing beyond the constraints of the soulful house domain. 

His Kaytronik persona, (previously reserved for remixes of other artists and a single on Atjazz Recordings) has allowed him greater freedom to explore beat syncopation, mood and impassioned expression further with an album that showcases his ability to work at any tempo, with a variety of styles, but always with the emotional content intact.

“State We In” is the first single taken from the album, a hard driving groove punctuated by a harder hitting narrative on the current disarray in the world as a whole, and the U.S. specifically.

The package also includes “I Say”, a straight up club banger to help shake off the tension.

Both tracks taken from the full length “Thee Album”- out on 4th March.

Short bio : "Definitely part of the new Deep House music scene that is emerging from France at the moment, Laurent, aka Kool Vibe, was born in Paris.. 
He discovered House Music in 1989 listening to radio stations such as Maxximum 105.9, FG 98.2 and Nova and dancing to the fresh new sounds of House and Acid House at the legendary Boy's club thanks to DJs such as DJ Deep & Laurent Garnier. First emotions on the dance floor : Mr. Fingers (Larry Heard), Sueno Latino, Adeva (Smack Productions), Ten City, Robert Owens (Frankie Knuckles, David Morales), Inner City, Photon Inc. (DJ Pierre), Three Generations (Kerri Chandler), C+C Music Factory (Robert Clivilles & David Cole), Coldcut feat. Lisa Stansfield. 
During the 90s, his addiction to the Garage and Deep House clubs of the French capital, notably Le Queen and the Kit Kat after parties, where he spent hours dancing to the sets of DJs such as Candy Eric (RIP), David Serrano (RIP) and André, led him little by little to become a record collector and then a producer. 
Kool Vibe's music today reflects the best of the 90s House Music sound that he manages to capture so well. In 2011 and 2012, his first releases have been cult tracks out on My Love Is Underground and Traxx Underground. In March 2013, he launched his very own label KV records, dedicated to underground Deep House and releasing on vinyl only."
