Hello and welcome to the third in the Apson mix series, Apson Psydub III. It is airing on DI.fm Psychill channel for the Winter Solstice celebration. 

The name of this mix series is inspired by the Apsara, or in Thai อัปสร (Apson), the beautiful dancing supernatural female beings of the clouds found in Hindu and Buddhist mythology. When I made this mix I could envision these Apsons dancing sensually through dubby fractal space goddess palaces floating in the sky....so sit back, relax and enjoy :)

'Jovian' is the sophomore release of UK-born, now Bordeaux resident SHALT, an EP that conceptually lands somewhere between techno/grime hybrids and radio storms on Jupiter. 
This EP couldn't have had a better theme, as the music could easily soundtrack volcanoes on Io hurling gas into the Jovian magnetosphere.

SHALT explores a range of visually intense sound textures on all four tracks - alien, muscular, metallic, mechanic, abrasive yet oddly comforting - that are a breath of fresh air in the scene and more than welcome here at Clubwerks. Gently crackling matter, stripped back club-ready percussion, undulating sonar signals and the overall intriguing listening experience make this one a standout for us in every way.

No two tracks are alike, each has its own oddity factor and that's what makes listening fun. As long as you immerse yourself, which isn't hard to do, you will enjoy this bold mission.

We took about 2 seconds to agree signing <A HREF="http://www.myspace.com/redux14">Redux</A> for his latest EP on <a href="http://www.myspace.com/trickerycollective">Trickery Collective</a>. A punishing dose of raw electro/techno, Redux really shows off his talents here with his peak-hour monster "Acid Bomb", and wobbly electro b-side "Girls I Like Your".

On remix duty we've called on fellow Parisian tech-funk producer <A HREF="http://www.myspace.com/misterstrom">Maelstrom</A>, who turns the "Acid Bomb" party vibe up to 11 - a guaranteed crowd pleaser.

The mighty <A HREF="http://www.myspace.com/601music">601</A> (of former label Polar Red) also get in on the action and throw down a bassline/percussion rerub of "Acid Bomb" with a seriously swung beat.

Finally Trickery Collective's own <A HREF=http://www.myspace.com/butterparty>Butter Party</A> belts out a dark-as-fuck "Acid Bomb" remix that should never be listened to sober!
