Materia Hache (@materia_hache) troubles and from that troubling makes politics. It is in a permanent search of collective displacement from an individual introspection. It is a form of resistance from the dance body for an individual / collective question / displacement.Is that silence that opens for constant change: it is QUEER, it is TECHNO, it is HOUSE; it is what is born from fear, distance and uncertainty; it is all that is tried to be kept invisible while from the underground we answer with rhythms that displace us, that question us, that turn us into only one matter, at least for a few moments, more loudly than any given form.

Since the beginning of 2020 she has been immersed in the search for women and nonbinary producers to give visibility and voice to all those who fight for and to create a dancefloor that deserves to be danced.

@Textbeak, is an American DJ, artist, and record producer. He has been making and DJing dark electronic music for many years and appears regularly on several live-streaming events including a monthly residency with Club Requiem (Oakland), regular appearances on Noir Frequencies (Tucson), and a new monthly residency for Strict Tempo (Seattle). Influenced by artists like Coil, Cabaret Voltaire, and Skinny Puppy, in the late 80s he began making music with whatever he had on hand in projects with long time friend Todd Sines (Planet E, Peacefrog). In 1991 Mike moved to Columbus, Ohio with a Roland W-30 and Todd Sines and joined up with Titonton Duvante (Residual Records) and Charles Noel aka Archetype (Ongaku, Black Nation) to start B/Re (Body Release). In 1994, his band Bath signed with Jevan Records (owned by gothic band Lestat) and recorded at Noise with producer Kramer (Shimmy Disc, Bongwater, Low, Ween, Galaxie 500). In 1998 he began to release solo works as Textbeak on labels such as Dark Daze (Carlos Peron of Yello), Moon Sounds (Dallas), Lasergun (Savas Pascalidis in Berlin), and Tundra Dubs (San Francisco). In 2011 he began TXTBK's CHVяCH XV BяXK3N 7ANGvAG Radio and has featured mixes by Philipp Strobel [aufnahme + wiedergabe], CRIM3S, BLVCK CEILING, Clan Destine Records, Mannequin Records and many others.
From his compositions to his genre-destroying DJ sets, he constantly creates new and unusual sound collages and mixes. His latest release, Sick For Songs A Season Eats is on Cleopatra Records with a remix album coming out very soon featuring remixes by Click Click, Antoni Maiovvi (Ye Gods), Jeremiah Meece (Valis), Mark Stewart (The Pop Group), and Frank Weyzig (ex-Clan of Xymox / Vaselyne).

Por eso, estamos más contentos que un niño con zapatos nuevos. Sin más miramientos ni escuchamientos (ya paramos) os presentamos a Materia Hache / @materia_hache

‘La materia hache incomoda y desde ahí hace política. Está en una búsqueda permanente de desplazamiento colectivo a partir de una introspección individual. Es una forma de resistencia desde el cuerpo de baile para un cuestionamiento/desplazamiento individual/colectivo. Es aquello silencioso que está abierto al constante cambio: es lo QUEER, es lo TECHNO; es lo HOUSE; es lo que nace desde el miedo, la distancia y la incertidumbre; es todo aquello que intentan invisibilizar mientras desde el underground respondemos con ritmos que nos desplazan, que nos cuestionan, que nos convierten en una sola materia, al menos por unos instantes, más fuerte que cualquier forma dada.

Desde principios del 2020, Materia Hache centra su proyecto en la búsqueda de productores mujeres y/o no binaries, para dar visibilidad y voz a todas las que luchan por y para crear una pista de baile que merezca ser bailada. Actualmente programa fiestas y podcasts junto a su colectivo Others To The Front en Madrid. ‘

Esta vez en vez de poner las mamarrachas sin pegamento que nos definen, hemos preferido dar plena voz a nuestrx invitadx para que este espacio sirva como referencia también, para ensanchar los espacios dentro de lo intangible de la escena electrónica, que a veces poco se trabajo pero que es casi tan importante como lo material que lo rodea.

Materia Hache is a Berlin-based DJ, part of a new generation that still wants to make politics through the sound, the dancefloor and the mix. Founder of the queer-DIY collective OTHERS TO THE FRONT. They define themselves as a House DJ, understanding the genre as something dynamic and fluid. Their sound mixes old-school and new-school from 120bpm up to 140bpm, constantly trying to capture the heartbeat of the dancefloor.  You will dance to a range from jackin' techno to Underground House, from the deepest to the most uplifting beats, always in search of the groove and dance. ‘One sec, we need to get some chips in him before his set’ Sisu maingal and Loose Lips affiliate Malissa told me, as she pulled my new, joyfully drunk Northern friend away from the bus stop. A couple of hours later I was the drunk one, bouncing up and down in Five Miles’ packed sideroom as Kortzer - now fully functional - dropped Boy Harsher’s Westerners and Charlie’s Spacer Woman, a brief 80s section of a set that slid around genres with reckless abandon, providing the crowd with a perfect alternative to the main room’s thundering techno. Aside from demonstrating a gorgeously varied record crate, this also showed off the wiley knowhow Kortzer has developed in his years on the scene. 

A lesser - or more pretentious -  DJ would have stuck to their own 4x4 guns, particularly if they had spent as many hours as Kortzer has gathering rough’n’ready techno in record stores such as Manchester’s Eastern Bloc, or perfecting its sound with a furrowed brow (having studied music production at the city’s ‘School of Electronic Music’). Not this bloke; ever since the DJ (real name Dave Clarke) was gifted a set of disused decks and a mixer by a friend of a friend, he has been a team player, warming up mates’ houses before before graduating to play his first residency aged 18, developing a style that slides away from his beloved techno into EBM, Jungle, Hardcore and more whenever the mood calls for it. 

As the years and experiences roll on, his collaborative spirit has been particularly demonstrated in his roles outside the DJ booth. As the head of the Loose Lips’ Manchester branch, his roles are as varied as the collective's world is, co-running the label, organising and DJing at their northern events and hosting the Loose Lips radio show on Reform radio. Perhaps the best demonstration of his attitude is the regular Kortzer’s Sunday Jams feature he writers for Loose Lips’ blog, consistently sharing music with the same enthusiasm and warmth he brings across the board.
