Catching Flies’ forthcoming single ‘Silver Linings’ taken from his debut album (release 5th July 2019), is a slice of sophisticated electronica that nails the sweet spot between headphones and dancefloor. ‘Silver Linings’ is highly textured, deeply melodic and effortlessly marries live instrumentation (guitars, harps, a string quartet…) with warm electronics. To a casual listener, its pulse and lavish keyboard layering might sound familiar – the kind of thing you recognise from the likes of Bonobo or Caribou. But with ‘Silver Linings’, the structuring is unique, the way it draws you through narratives, leading you in and out of its androgynous sampled vocal loops nothing short of magical…meticulous production manipulations make surfaces glitter, crackle and crunch in a way that constantly calls into question what is electronic and what is ‘real.’

"Free" channels inspiration from my grandfather who grew up in the Faroe Islands. He told me stories of the amazing land, how they climbed cliffs to get bird eggs, and would go fishing out at sea. "Free" aims to capture this feeling of adventure and openness in a song. The remix by @marley-carroll does an amazing job at capturing the elements of the original but taking it to a new danceable space. The driving beat, syncopated synthesizers, and fresh vocal chops make for an exciting new listen.

From the remixing artist, "For the "Free" remix, I borrowed a technique from house music in which uptempo songs are pitched down by a few semitones and reworked as slow-motion boogie edits. This process created a new stretched-out feel that inspired me to build a hazy, chilled-out instrumental around the original vocal." - Marley Carroll

Koresma (Ryan Lindberg) is an electronic producer from the mountains of Asheville, NC currently based in Los Angeles, California. Koresma creates a blend of chilled electro-acoustic music centered around a strong drum groove. Inspired by landscapes and their influence on sounds, Koresma just finished working on a four part album based on the theme of a compass. The frour EP's, East, West, and North and South are out now!
