Previously appearing on Rekids Special Projects with ‘Afra’ and Rekids with ‘Embers’ and ‘We Don’t Flip’, Hybrasil's latest ‘Tuatha De Danaan EP’ sees the Irish-born, Berlin-based DJ/producer make his fourth appearance on Radio Slave’s imprint with five tracks of direct, powerful techno.

Title track ’Tuatha De Danann’ combines grinding textures and siren-esque leads under a lethal 4/4 pattern, leading into the trippy and trembling electronics of ‘Hill of Tara’. Featuring atmospheric vocals from Irish folk and soul singer Sarah McQuillan, the track is their first collaboration. 

‘Portal Dolmen’ sees crunching claps over vocal chops and sharp stabs before ‘Megalith’ brings a dose of dub techno aesthetics. Closer ‘Bealtaine’ sports subdued synth work under red hot percussion, bringing the dancefloor focussed release to a close. Additionally, the EP will feature an audio-visual collaboration with Tom Hodgkinson, laying the building blocks for a future AV show.

Incoming, today we premiere new music from one of the cities finest DJs, Sarah Lennox, as she contributes her latest track entitled 'Twisted', to Italian label Prospect Records, as part of their 10 track Various Artist compilation. 

Sarah Lennox has been involved in Dublin’s music scene behind the decks for over ten years now, reminiscing back to her residencies on Pirate Radio and her ‘Sauce’ residency in one of Dublin’s most iconic venues, The Kitchen. She has gone to become a festival regular in Ireland, performing the likes of Life Festival, Mass Festival, also becoming a resident artist at Fuinneamh Festival. Combine this with being a resident for the well known Secret Society, she has built quite a reputation for herself.

Going further afield Sarah has also been invited abroad to play at the likes of Ministry of Sound & EGG in London, Sankeys in Ibiza and even Elrow Town Festival!

Sarah’s production began in 2017 with a string of releases on labels like Day & Night, 69 Street Records and Playground. Since then she has gone back under the radar to further develop her sound and refine herself into a prominent artist with a hunger to produce her own brand of heavy, grooving basslines with powerful synths. Back in May of this year Sarah started to put brand new music out again, released her huge track ‘Kaleidoscope’ with Full Tec Recordings, making it clear that the Dublin producer was very much back in the studio ready to start releasing music once more.

Today, Sarah contributes her excellent big room track 'Twister', to the Italian label Prospect Records, as part of their 10 track 'Phased & Confused' Various Artist compilation.

Kuiper Noise founder Holldën presents “Malpractice” EP on Second State. The Portuguese export delivers a whirlwind of crunching, evocative techno with this record, following his stand-out contribution to the label’s most recent VA compilation with track “Myosotis”. 

Launching the record with breakneck speed is “Slacker”. This chaotic high energy opener employs furious precision with relentless cymbals and snare drums. The hectic mood that’s created delves deep with a pummeling kick drum and a dense, malevolent baseline. Synth keys sway and push from one minor key to another, building a deep and dark energy. Next up is “Physical Provider”, a track that continues with the same level of energy and gusto as its predecessor. A heavily distorted vocal sample that is pushed beyond any discernible recognition plays a vital rhythmic role, intertwined with the kick drum and hi-hat combination. Slowly, a devilish baseline is drawn in, adding even more weight. Melodic keys jolt between the percussion and fall gracefully into the arms of the long, yearning major notes towards the close. 

Following is the atmospheric cut “Dandelion Mine”. Endlessly deep sonics greet us from the jump, swirling nimbly around the thumping kick drum and off-kilter synth notes, that make this an ultimate techno roller. Razor sharp cymbals ring out and send you into a frenzy amongst the snares drum and a jet black baseline. A brief moment of serenity is found when the percussion is stripped away, but is soon lost as the full weight of the track is brought down upon you again. Closing out proceedings is “Garrote”, with off-center, minor keys, it is as perfectly unusual as it is effective. The percussion leaves nothing to the imagination as the full force of Holldën’s production is brought out on show. Explosive kick drums, hi-hats, and snare drums drive you on, while pairing effortlessly with the trippy melody. A deep baseline brings with it an unnerving anxious feeling that calls you to the dance.

UK techno legend Mark Broom returns to Rekids ahead of new album with ‘100% Juice Album Sampler’.

Following the acclaimed ‘Funfzig LP’ on Rekids in 2021 as well as his ‘Mutated Battle Breaks’ series on the techno focussed sub-label Rekids Special Projects, UK stalwart Mark Broom returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids with ‘100% Juice Album Sampler’, a four-track taster for his next album titled ‘100% Juice’, scheduled to be released in April.

Leading the A-side is ‘100% Juice (Sampler Mix)’, a jacked-up take on the album’s title track, with chunky kicks, off-kilter stabs, and crunching claps kickstarting the record. ‘Contigo’ follows, with trippy synths providing a dose of silliness alongside razor-sharp drums. On the flip, ‘Nod To The D’ pays homage to classic Detroit sounds, as light arpeggios and bright synths weave their way through silky pads before closer ‘Spiked’ sees a funk-laden groove take charge as unruly leads flutter atop the jacking groove. 

Releasing on labels such as Rekids, M-Plant, and Blueprint, the wildly prolific Broom has consistently been at the forefront of the techno scene for decades with his gritty, groove-based output while, away from the dancefloor, his The Fear Ratio project with James Ruskin continues to win critical acclaim.
