Agathi is a new Sri Lankan black metal band that burst onto the music scene in 2022, hailing from an area between Siyane koralaya (present Gampaha) and Beligal koralaya (present Kegalle). Accordinhg to an idea of Ghoradhwesha ඝෝරද්වේෂ, Gurusinghe (ex Dhishti), Nishendra "Vishrawa" Fernando (Dhishti) and Bheemaghosha භීමඝෝෂ worked on first maerials of the concepts and the music. After Mohagra මෝහාග්‍ර and Chandagra ජන්දාග්‍ර joined for guitars according to the plan. 

The band's lyrics and concepts explore themes of Individualism, Political and religious conflicts, Buddhist litreature and Philosophy and the history of ancient Sri Lanka. They fearlessly challenge traditional beliefs and cultural practices that they view as limiting, and their music is a rallying call for those who seek to break free from society's constraints.
