ABOUT Daniela Mariposa:

Daniela danced through the late 90s and enjoyed the development of electronic music over the years. Always looking for new artists with  innovative sound, she viewed herself as a music consumer of deep conviction. Not rarely did she fly for just one artist to another country. To this day, she loves good techno, driving soundscapes and almost monotonous minimal sound. Only with the expansion of her musical horizon to downtempo and the realization of being able to combine all different types of electronic and analogue music she loves so much, she wanted to express myself with the music. Suddenly, the love of music reached an entirely new level. Daniela is grateful for everything she has experienced through music. Between melodic playful sounds and psychedelic driving techno classics inspired from the different genres and times, she lets herself drift. She is looking forward to everything that comes, the main thing is that the passion stays and that she never loses sight of her goal: to move slowly, live slowly....

The process of creating this one was very creative and full of challenges, first being that I sit here in my studio in India while Ghassan sits in Montreal. To figure each others' vibe and to go with the flow was deeply felt and here is the result :))

Witchtape #59 | Guest Witch : MarinJah

(Story continued from Witchtape #40)
The little witch gazed at the near full moon and was already feeling excited about her next witch coven, which happens every full moon night but always in another location and each time in the ever-changing company of witches from all corners of the continent.  But this month, her body started to feel ticklish one day earlier than normal, so she decided to take off and fly in South-Eastern direction, following her inner compass.  She flew much further than ever before, over mountains and valleys, and after that more mountains and more valleys, in the process flying over a deep blue sea twice, before finally reaching her destination, a land which was much warmer than her home country in North-Western Europe.  It was also drier, yet way more varied and diverse, a mosaic of Mediterranean shrublands interspersed with lush green valleys with olive and fig trees, which the girl had never seen with her own eyes before.
Her inner compass told her to fly northwards, and soon she was heading straight towards a majestic snow-capped mountain when all of a sudden she sensed she had reached her destination and touched down gently near a waterfall on the southern slope of the mountain.  The place felt like the garden of Eden, with flowers blooming in the most wonderful of colors and birds singing everywhere.  The little witch now looked at the water of the little lake at the foot of the waterfall, which had a mesmerizing blueish-greenish color she had never seen before.  She soon became attracted to a rock in the middle of the river, and before she knew it, she had shrugged off her clothes and waded into the river.  The water was unbelievably clear and pure, which was absolutely normal as it came straight from the glaciers near the mountain top.  This also meant the water was ice-cold, but luckily witches can withstand the cold very well.  The girl swam at a gentle pace towards the rock, while listening to the soothing sound of the nearby waterfall.  This river didn’t feel like an ordinary river as she sensed a strong energy inside each drop of water.  This energy seemed to reach a maximum near the middle of the river.  Just at that moment, the little witch saw a very old witch arriving at the right bank of the river.  Back in Europe, she knew a witch who was 850 years old (and she thought this was already very, very old), but this witch turned out to be over 6000 years old, making her realize the history of this place went back all the way to the dawn of civilization.  After a while, the little witch looked at the other side of the river and to her amazement a very young witch had arrived on the left bank.  The girl had shiny curly black hair, intense black eyes and she was clearly in her mid-teens.  It was the very first time the little witch had met with an even younger witch.  Almost synchronously, the 2 witches joined their European guest in the water and soon they found each other in silence in the middle of the river.  The little witch got almost overwhelmed by the strong but contrasting energies of the 2 other witches, connecting at the same time with the immense life experience and the vibrant youthful energy of her two sisters witch.  She sensed this would become the most memorable witch coven of her whole life…

This set is a Dussehra special
Today marks the end of "Ramlila" and remembers god Rama's victory over Ravana. On the very same occasion, Arjuna alone decimated more than a 1,000,000 soldiers and defeated all Kuru warriors including Bhishma, Drona, Ashwatthama, Karna and Kripa, a significant example of victory of good (Dharma) over evil (Adharma).

Ravana’s 10 heads depict 10 negatives-
Kaam (lust)
Krodha (Anger)
Lobh (Greed)
Moh (Attachement)
Ahankar (Ego) 
Bhay (Fear)
Irshya (Jealousy)
Jadta (Inertia)
Dvesh (Hate)
Paschataap (Guilt)

And today we destroy these negatives from within and with it from our external world ;)

The rāga saga is a series that acts as a cultural collectiva of our favourite artists from all over, each raga is an array of melodic structures with musical motifs, considered in the Indian tradition to have the ability to "colour the mind" and affect the emotions of the audience and this journey (raga) and this rāga comes from the hypnotic @sergey-nomad

For the next down.cast we have invited our friend Smutje who is well known for cooking the best meals on our sailing trips.
Unfortunately, our ship is currently stuck in the ice and will only be able to sail into warmer waters in the distant future. All the better that Smutje created this episode for us and sweetened the icy time with warm melodies and tight baselines.

kosha (Sanskrit कोश, IAST: kośa), usually rendered "sheath", the covering of the Atman, or Self. 

kośa is a soundsmith who brings you a flavour mixing - downtempo, acid house, minimal//deep-tech ranging from 80 to 120 bpm, electronic yet organic tunes, deep hypnotic meditative grooves and solid kicks infused with Indian, Arabic and other Ethnic influences which we beautifully term 'spiritual deeptech' a genre coined by kośa, rooted in the deepest part of India's underground scene.

ॐ//om -The great primordial sound, the original sound from which the universe was created, the sound of all sounds together. According to Hindu metaphysics everything is made of sounds (vibrations), since everything is sound, healing through it, is an ancient ritual, as sound is not only heard through our ears but vibrates within every cell of our bodies.

For us at kosa records this network gives space to connect ideas of various forms to do art for art's sake - not for social recognition. to break the rules of systematic exploitation of the artist's energy and to feel the soul in synchonicity.

We consumed too much music and it started to leak and this is when kośa evolved into a record label in January 2019 with the release of their first various artists compilation Mīmāṃsā, though the real beginnings were with our Podcast series the raga saga https://soundcloud.com/kosamusica/sets/the-raga-saga where in we showcase an hour of beautiful music from our favorite artists from around the world.

50% of all proceeds are donated to Pawbro India Foundation that aims at feeding stray dogs and other animals in Pune, India, feeding over 150 strays everyday. Part of the artists’ stream shares are directed towards these efforts.
