ABOUT THE ARTIST -
Cobe-Cobe is a producer, DJ and musician on labels Cosmic Awakenings, Kośa Musica, Tibetania Records, LiLDream and Camel VIP. An acoustic remedy of desert, jungle and metropolis feels, always underpinned by a deep percussive groove, “Cobe-Cobe” [ko-be ko-be] a universal sound under different names.

Originally from the UK, his musical beginnings came when a childhood mentor taught him to improvise at the piano, then Celtic folk sessions, classical and jazz harmonies from Mingus to Stravinsky, tinkering with the original Cubase VST, establishing himself as a double bassist on his local scene, eventually led to studying composition at a UK music college.

Through this, he became captivated by the two sides of music - the hypnotic beat / the ethereal melody, the mind / the heart, harmony / groove, the voice / the kick, celestial beings / earthly roots. Mesmerised by the experience of making others dance, he started to experiment with combining with what he saw as the two sides of music.

Learning vinyl, his first UK gigs were for Hit & Run. Electronic production skills developed, tastes refined, and sounds were collected wherever he roamed, from Colombia to Tulum, London to Amsterdam, to starting the DJ collective Catlocarpio in Cambodia, and recording traditional music in the Tibetan highlands.

The highest goal of music is to connect soul to its divine nature, not just entertainment :)

ॐ//om -The great primordial sound, the original sound from which the universe was created, the sound of all sounds together. According to Hindu metaphysics everything is made of sounds (vibrations), since everything is sound, healing through it, is an ancient ritual, as sound is not only heard through our ears but vibrates within every cell of our bodies.

kosha (Sanskrit कोश, IAST: kośa), usually rendered "sheath", the covering of the Atman, or Self. 

kośa is a soundsmith who brings you a flavour mixing - downtempo, acid house, minimal//deep-tech ranging from 80 to 120 bpm, electronic yet organic tunes, deep hypnotic meditative grooves and solid kicks infused with Indian, Arabic and other Ethnic influences which we beautifully term 'spiritual deeptech' a genre coined by kośa, rooted in the deepest part of India's underground scene.

For us at kosa records this network gives space to connect ideas of various forms to do art for art's sake - not for social recognition. to break the rules of systematic exploitation of the artist's energy and to feel the soul in synchonicity.

We consumed too much music and it started to leak and this is when kośa evolved into a record label in January 2019 with the release of their first various artists compilation Mīmāṃsā, though the real beginnings were with our Podcast series the raga saga https://soundcloud.com/kosamusica/sets/the-raga-saga where in we showcase an hour of beautiful music from our favorite artists from around the world.

33% of all proceeds are donated to Mountain Village Foundation that aims at educating the underprivileged women and children in the northern parts of India.
