We welcome this summer heater which is “Gilli 88 EP”. A tribute to the 80s phenomenon...THE PANINARO. Without any ideological basis or connection to a particular lifestyle THE PANINARO was based around fashion imagery and luxurious clothing. Enzo found this translatable to today’s social network dynamics and is prime for the retrofuturistic dancefloors of today that are inspired by the golden days of Italo-Disco.

“Low Red” is a Italo-Pop gem conceived with Aldebaran and Quique on vocals that takes inspiration from the legends that were – the mighty Suicide. An instrumental version dives deeper into the groove for DJ play persuasion. “Aj Squinza” takes a classic 80’s disco approach with sound-scaping synths that endlessly jam with an everchanging rhythm. “Volpinata” succumbs to a classic EBM groove that finds its way out of focus due to fat synth melodies that engorge this elevating track.

With a hefty back catalog of releases and an ever-evolving style, Berlin mainstay Niko Schwind dives into his introspective side on the Amari EP, which boasts four original tracks including a collab with DJ, producer and vocalist Felix Raphael.

Opener Circles is a tangle of dreamy pads and wistful vocals, with gleaming synths and undulating drums complementing Felix Raphael’s pensive lyrical incantations.

A walk on the tribal side, Kala combines introspective melodies with relentless percussion. Indigenous chants accent the mystic rave atmosphere, building up to an immersive, hypnotizing climax. Equally mesmerizing, but channeling a more constant energy is Amari, taking us on a dynamic journey with occasional bursts of sonic color. Zugvögel is a laidback track that builds slowly, adding subtle layers of cosmic melody with psychedelic vocals and a deep, mind-bending bassline, rounding off the release in a contemplative fashion.

‘Droplet’ is an electronica journey of haunting vocals and walls of hypnotic ocean-like synths, driven along by the low end of deep house. The track takes thematic inspiration from the planetary water
cycle and the following premise: as we are all ultimately one, there is nothing to fear.

Beacon Bloom are an ethereal, genre-fluid electronica act hidden away in New Zealand. ‘Droplet’ is the band's debut release with Australian and New Zealand based boutique label Beat & Path. For Beacon Bloom, 2021 will start with multiple festival performances in New Zealand and a potential European tour (dependent on COVID-19).

For his take on ‘Droplet’, Niko Schwind lets his composition skills loose, adding a heartfelt breakdown, a woozy, stuttering riff and a punching bassline. The result is crisp and DJ-friendly, accentuating all
the wistfulness of Beacon Bloom’s original while keeping energy levels high. This is a remix that’s perfectly tailored for the final moment of an outdoor festival.
