The creative journey leading to the birth of 'Bubblebath Trance' is a tale of irony and serenity intertwined. As Rampue recalls, "It all started and ended in the same moment: my cherished feline companion, my laptop awash with an unintended bath, and alas, a dearth of backups." This unfortunate series of events led to an outcome echoing a kind of chaotic tranquility. This serenity, born from stepping into a bubbling primitive chaos, permeates throughout the album, enriching the overall listening experience.

Rampue's debut album subtly imitates the "euphonious strains" of iconic PlayStation 1 video game soundtracks from his youth. The music sweeps listeners into a paradoxical emotional experience—imbued with nostalgia, yet vibrant and dynamic. It’s as though listeners are offered a bird's eye view of the world below, allowing them to rise slowly through the atmosphere's layers towards uncharted territories.

Rampue’s artistic mastery shines in ‘Harmonie,’ a true paragon of his unique take on classic electronica. The track radiates a poetic flame, consuming and transforming all within its reach. Picture yourself riding a chocobo across the sandy expanses of North Corel while this composition echoes in the distance. It paints a vivid scene for Final Fantasy VII aficionados.

The album embraces a rich variety of musical hues and subtleties. From the brass-heavy coastal jazz influences in 'Schattenschranz', to the chopped-up, trip-hop-adjacent electronics in 'Inside', Rampue demonstrates his ability to shape-shift across genres. Other tracks like the joyously chaotic 'Tripomatic', and 'Ich hasse Sonne', with its cinematic flair, contribute to the diverse soundscape.

The album’s eponymous track, 'Bubblebath Trance', is a piece both exuberant and deeply moving. Second single taken from Rampue's forthcoming album 'Bubblebath Trance', which also marks A Tribe Called Kotori's first foray into full-length territories, here comes 'Verfahren / Schattenschranz'. Cut from the same immaculate, ethereal cloth that's come to define his smoothly oneiric style over the years, this new pair of bleached-out belters from the Berlin-based escapologist treats us to an effortlessly lush tableau of both wistful and dynamic electronica, tear-jerking and multi-dimensional in essence. Fuelled on kodachromatic beachside vibes and faux balearic-infused jazz, Rampue's sonic postcards are true poetry in motion, as their deep and largely dubbed-out flavours reveal themselves on a drip tease flex, fleshing out with unheard levels of detail and depth as you listen to them more attentively. 

A total mindtrip of a track and deeply cinematic object, 'Verfahren' embraces Rampue's hair-raising take on the classic electronica formula and injects it with an ambrosial nectar of uplifting trancey motifs and pixelated beauty akin to his beloved PS1 games' soundtracks. Born during a solar flare and raised on limited-run white labels, this is a musical project conceived somewhere between a broken Roland drum machine, reviving a lost album on a broken 2002 Macbook and a really intense conversation about the meaning of groove.
Our music is for people who’ve quit DJing at least twice but keep coming back because “the scene needs healing.” Think: Balearic lounge for astral projection. Disco, if it were curated by a sentient potted plant. Funk, but made entirely from field recordings of sandals on gravel. We emerged from the mist of a questionable sunrise set in 2009 (or maybe 2031—time is an illusion) with one goal: to make music that feels like a hug from a glitter-covered alien who once dated a member of Kruder & Dorfmeister.
We’ve had aliases. Too many. Some were successful. One was just a Wi-Fi password. This one, though...this is the one. It’s got layers. It’s cosmic. It’s nostalgic. It wears tinted glasses indoors and still buys the incredibly outdated musical format they call vinyl (or vinyls if you really want to piss the purists off). We like music that makes you dance, cry a little, then question your relationship with time. Funk? Essential. Melody? Always. Hand drums played by someone called “Moonrise Mike”? Whenever possible.
We don’t make music for sunrises and sunsets, we make music that thinks it is a sunrise but occasionally has an identity crisis and becomes a fog machine. In conclusion: yes, we take music seriously. But ourselves? Not so much. This is an ongoing experiment in sonic telepathy, ego death, and grooving responsibly. Join us. Or don’t. We’re honestly quite busy communicating with dolphins through MIDI.
Released to align with the Autumnal Equinox and mark the end of summer, but keep that summer feeling alive in you - 22nd September, ready thyselves...
