Axefield is back. After his introduction on the Intercept V/A with his incredible 'Slug' the Amsterdam-based producer is now back with his Intercept EP debut called 'Cocktail Culture'.

The 4 track-EP takes you through different chapters of the Axefield sound, each track with a playful and adventurous edge that's sure to surprise you.

Opener 'Cricket Drum' is a southside 808 inspired tune, combined with Dutch trance synth work. It makes for an odd combination that surprisingly works well. We're safe to say that we can't wait to hear this one out in a club environment.

'Soothe The Hyperactive Mind' does exactly the opposite as the title suggest. This 150 bpm floater feels lightfooted, but surprises at every turn with its deep basslines and joyful synth stylings. 

Title track 'Cocktail Culture' takes you to a more relaxing side, cocktail in hand. The off-kilter drums are combined with vocal chops that work in a hypnotizing fashion, taking you to the track we know Axefield from: 'Slug'.

We’ve spent the days regrouping, realigning and now we finally can release a record that is dear to us and has simply been a ridiculously long time coming. 

The ascension of Viers is well charted, and having already played a part in that indomitable sonic crusade we once again submit to his gripping vibrations as he distils them into safe and consumable formats distinguishable to the human ear. The man is untethered and the tunes are disrespectful. We are unapologetic. 6 tracks and no punches pulled, the bruising of egos and maybe some self-assuredness is at hand. Smashed veneers everywhere no thanks to Viers.

It's time to open your eyes, this first side is full of movements ready to hypnotise and energise a dancefloor waiting for these sonic gems.
We must spin the record to find a blood coming from Kingston, however it is the Pilat that will give the rhythm of these green wizards. Their colours, of which this land alone knows the secret, blow a groove may be born from an AKAI MPC10003 caught in the Vieux Port. Its 3 pads and 2 missing buttons will deconstruct your mind.
