KHYPE007 - Toronto's Kozmik Hype Recordings cuts loose with There's No Escape, a new single in the labels classic house music style from veteran DJ Mystik Mike. A mainstay on the Toronto scene, Mystik Mike has been spreading the house message since the 90s as a DJ, club owner, and radio show host. On There's No Escape, Mike enlisted Toronto club diva LenaMar to provide vocals for a dubby, synth lead-driven house music stomper. Charged with energy, this late night construction is sure to be the peak track of many DJ sets with its wild key lines and echoed vocal hits over an insistent four-on-the-floor rhythm. A pair of hot remixes come courtesy of fellow Toronto mainstays Steve Venom and Darren Marshall. Steve's hypnotic version builds and rises around a filtered, repeating synth riff, while Darren's mix channels a bit of 90s west coast flavor for an after hours treat.

DJ SoliD has been in and around Toronto’s club scene for decades. With a deep connection to dance music in all its forms, SoliD’s sets incorporate soulful, deep and classic grooves that continue to entertain dance floors around the city. These occasions extend from appearances at contemporary venues like Boogie, Basement 254, and Joe Bird to Toronto’s legendary spots of the past—Roxy Blue, Tilt Lounge, Revival, and Gypsy Co-op. With an ability to blend various house styles, and with a penchant also for drum and bass, his reputation continues to grow amongst his peers in Toronto’s buzzing nightlife, and he continues to showcase his energy and tune selection in and around the city whenever he sees opportunity.

Recently, DJ SoliD has taken the exciting step into music production and over the past few years has started to craft a distinct sound. His multitude of Bandcamp releases showcase a deep, percussive, and melodic take on house music, layering rhythmic complexity in a way that delivers a forward-thinking approach to production and has helped him to begin to carve his lane within the boundaries of the genre.

Through both his DJ sets and his productions, DJ SoliD remains an meaningful part of Toronto’s house scene. His growing dedication to the craft ensures that he continues to evolve while staying true to the genre’s roots.

Duallity is a french producer from France. He started creating electronic music in 2009 after the break of his Metal band Deathpike. His music was first inspired by hard trance and psy trance, but now he mixes complex percussions with dark synths and heavy ambient sounds with a cinematographic feeling.
