heartworm is san francisco resident brandon taylor. 

currently focusing on cinematic sound design, experimental synth explorations, breakbeat gnarlification, musique concrete'-esque collage and field recordings, slowed-down-pitch-jacked hip hop, granular reality warping, and ambient narcoleptic insomnia. 

also working on some abstract hip-hop and straight breakcore tracks for various projects, djing whatever i feel like,  playing bass guitar in a shoegaze/ rock band, machines in a dub/ industrial project, helping run a soundsystem/ event crew, running a weekly internet radio show, and putting together a recording/ production facility. 

recent recipient of certifications in sound design/ sound for film, live sound reinforcement and audio engineeering/studio recording from CCSF San Francisco.

heartworm has recorded and performed music in a dizzying array of styles, from free form minimalism to harsh noise to breakcore to experimental metal to indie rock moduto ambient to musique concrete. 
cutting his teeth in bands and industrial projects in florida, he began dJing and writing solo electronic music in 1997, then moved to new york city, where he became active in the underground hardcore scene, ran a monthly ambient event, founded the seminal net label slum.org, and released a record with legendary digital hardcore recordings. after moving to san francisco in 2003, heartworm became active with the 5lowershop soundsystem crew, organizing events throughout the bay area. 
heartworm has had countless releases and performances in varied genres, north american and european tours and continues to be active in the bay area and worldwide music scene...
