Alan Fitzpatrick’s We Are The Brave welcomes back imprint regular A.S.H for the record label’s second release of 2022.

A.S.H has been a firm favourite with We Are The Brave fans since his debut in 2018 and has since released on various other Techno imprints including Spektre's Respekt Recording.

“Obsession” marks A.S.H’s fifth EP on We Are The Brave, in addition to his numerous remixes and compilation tracks on the label. The Portsmouth based artist enlists Hard House pioneer BK for remix duties on this release.

BK’s remix of “Clarity” opens the release with a monstrous lead synth that engulfs the dancefloor. Acidic tones are augmented by pounding percussion to deliver an explosively palpable energy. The tension building groove of “Obsession” is the second track on the EP, and the first of A.S.H’s originals. A.S.H closes proceedings with his original mix of “Clarity”, a techno stomper which delivers an unrelenting onslaught of captivating suspense.

DC172 comes on behalf of Brazilian born Vinicius Honorio, a now London based producer and DJ who is making some serious in-roads amongst a new breed of techno artists. Having already released on labels such as Pig&Dan’s Elevate and dubspeeka’s Skeleton, the next natural step in his progression comes in the form of a release on Drumcode. 

‘Through The Darkness’ is a masterclass in darkened techno grooves, with each one of the four tracks managing to show off Honorio’s skill as a producer and just why he is firing on all cylinders. The release kicks off with ‘Walking Shadow’, a track that has been a key part of Adam Beyer’s sets at the tail end of 2016 and in to the new year. This tense, brooding affair has certainly garnered a lot of attention of late and it’s clear to see why. The title track ‘Through The Darkness’ is a much more of a stripped back cut, jam-packed with a haunting vocal hook, driving basslines and slick drums. This is one for the late night mischief makers. ‘Desolate’ is another hard-hitter, managing to perfectly balance that signature Honorio groove and pounding drums that adds depth to his productions. The release closes with the atmospheric ‘Out For Blood’, which is loaded with vintage rave stabs and weighty basslines – This one is meant to played in dark and sweaty rooms.

While he may not yet be a household name, Toronto native Weska has already begun turning heads with his unique brand of techno. Most recently, the one and only Eric Prydz hand selected Weska as his opener for multiple shows gloabally, a feat that doesn't just happen by imitating others, but by forging one's own sound.  Having already done a remix for us, we are incredibly thrilled to have Weska return for a full EP for our label's final release of this incredible 2017 campaign! On the back of two huge remixes, label bossmen Spektre are back with a scintillating original. “Forged in the Heart of a Laserbeam” is a sci-fi tinged, trance-infused slice of techno. An unusual, haunting synth sequence morphs and evolves through the track, being joined by epic pads and juddering, gated vocals.
The remix package comes courtesy of Skober and Sasha Carassi. Skober stays fairly true to the original with his mix, whilst cranking up the breakbeats in the drop and giving it his unmistakable spin.
Sasha Carassi strips things right back, and rebuilds a seriously cool, contemplative cut around the strings and pads.

“Nuance” opens the release with its pounding kick drum and explosive bursts of acid that underpin vocal textures and lead to an old school breakdown. Second of the two original cuts “Mad Train” has stabbing chords combined with building euphoria which erupts with fist-pumping energy. Last on the release is The Reactivitz’s rework of Nuance which is darker and even more ferocious than the original.

15th June sees prolific Rome-based selector and label owner, Frankyeffe release his brand-new single, ‘Skin’ ft. Bruna via his own Riot Recordings imprint.

Continuing his hot streak of 2020 releases, Italian techno typhoon, Frankyeffe returns with yet another essential addition to his ever-expanding catalogue. A little under two months after his pounding Rave Alarm EP, he’s back with his mammoth new single, ‘Skin’ featuring German DJ/vocalist and previous Riot Recordings collaborator, Bruna. Rapidly gaining the attention and respect of the wider dance community, Frankyeffe has previously featured on the likes of Senso Sounds, JAM, We Are The Brave, Filth On Acid, Tronic, Kraftek and Terminal M.

Offering up an ample feast of powerhouse production, ‘Skin’ arrives as striking showpiece for Frankyeffe’s domineering approach to dance music. Clocking in at 7 minutes 39 seconds, its ascending atmospherics and pounding bassline is impenetrably dense, the track’s percussive groove also intricately punctuated by laser-synth interludes. Bruna provides hypnotic vocals throughout; her cryptic narration is all-encompassing and immersive beneath ‘Skin’s’ cavernous exterior.
