After the completion of the Battle of Krakenmoor experiment, I really had no intentions of trying to put together another concept album (if that is what you wanna call it)... However; after we received so much praise for our efforts, Tyrone asked me if I wanted to attempt another, and how could I tell the man no. I recruited Daniel Gómez (Icarus Death) and Eric T (The Boilerman) to help me with lead guitar duties and I went to work.

The writing and the recording of the music went from September 2019 through about March 2020 and Tyrone has now began writing and recording vocals. So the entire piece should be completed by the end of 2020. 
We have embarked on another musical journey that will encompass 7 songs in all. Our story will be derived from events of the Third Crusade that happened between the years of 1189 and 1192. 

Conceptually, I wanted to take the music in a more symphonic direction this time around. My promise to you is.. there will be many surprises both musically and lyrically on this journey. So we hope you enjoy what we have managed to put together.

I Want It All

One of my favorite songs is "The Job That Ate My Brain" by the Ramones. This song has nothing in common with that one, except that the process of making it could be described as "The Song That Ate My Brain." It took far too long to create, and as usual, there's no way of knowing if it was worth it or not. The intro is a remnant from a song written in 2022, but now “Spy Film” is complete in its entirety. Three chord and four words: I fucking hate diplomacy. This song is inspired by daily life small talk and idiomatic expressions, that sound super ironic to my ears. I wish I could start conversations without diplomacy, but most people think I'm rude, when I just say what I really feel. This song makes you want to raise the roof after a bad day, I promise. It's time to quit the bullshit bingo.

Big thanks to Robert, Maik and Patrick from JaaRi who gave that song the special punk rock energy. Same for John for his powerful vocal takes, and Kathi for the backing vocals. I wish I could be with you in a rehearsal room and shout it out! Should be great fun :)

This is the final chapter in our Battle Of Krakenmoor saga... Its intention... well, i guess the intention of this entire project is to show that, with all wars, past or present, in victory or defeat... there is always a great cost that will be paid.... there is never any true 100% victor in any battle and the costs are very high.
In our story, the original inhabitants of Krakenmoor have defied the odds and reclaimed there home, but as the smoke clears and the victors relish in their conquest, they look across the battlefield and see the toll that was paid and wonder if it was all worth it in the end for just for this particular piece of land that many years ago they had called home.
