DJ, producer, promoter, composer, and cultural agitator Man Power makes his debut on Radio Slave’s Rekids with ‘We Trawl The Hurts’ featuring Louisahhh on 12th April. The first fruits of a long-term friendship see Man Power (Me Me Me/Throne of Blood/Optimo) serving up a stomping, big-room cut that tips its hat to late-90s NY house and serves as a bed for the inimitable Louisahhh’s (RAAR) breathy vocal delivery of classic Prefab Sprout lyrics.

“I realised that I never set out to make a "Banger", so I started sharing daily WIPs on Twitter/X of me attempting to do so, with notes on why I'd made certain decisions or changed certain things. The results were a shock and it felt like I'd managed to do what I set out to do, but I felt it needed an additional element. I've wanted to do something with Louisahhh for forever and the idea of asking her to cover that as a vocal element just arrived in my head fully formed. It's one of the few occasions making music where I've had an idea and the execution has turned out exactly as it was in my head when I first thought of it” - Man Power

An intimate, spoken-word vocal from Louisahh weaves through a world of vibrant pads and chords. The gorgeous lyricism of their ‘We Trawl The Hurts’ is underpinned by an uplifting and emotive swirl of melody and a rock-steady beat. Man Power’s love of Murk and Tenaglia shines through.

The evergreen Deetron delivers three versions of ‘We Trawl The Hurt’s ft Louisahhh’: a remix that flips the original into a thumping deep techno cut featuring loopy synths and pixelated leads, a stripped-back and powerful dub, and his DJ tool ‘drum and bass’, built for those who like to mix.

The krankbrother label comes back out of the blocks this May, hot on the heels of their inaugural release (produced by krankbrother themselves), with a second offering, this time from young Welsh producer Jody Barr.  Having been producing and demo-ing material for the last couple of years, Barr has been picking up some fans of late, including George FitzGerald and B-Traits, and this release on krankbrother marks his debut single, and a bright future.

With its heavy kick and growling sub-bass dominating the release opener, “Room 108” smacks of ‘big-room’ in all the right places.  Barr works the basic elements to maximum effect, serving up a hefty peak time track that straddles the line of house and techno with ease.

Continuing at this pace, “Think About It” once more relies on the powerful drums for its impact, adding dramatic rising synths and sunrise strings to carve out a most hedonistic production, whilst the energy levels don’t let up for one minute as “Arizona Dream” fuses its dubby techno sounds with goose bump inflicting pianos and soft strings to memorable effect.

'June' is a tech-house roller fit for the terraces. There are wild, pulsating riffs, soft chords, huge Miss Kittin vocals and a bassline that bumps from beginning to end. 

We can see Anja rolling this out in her sets which automatically gives the track our seal of approval.

This tech-house cut wriggles and rolls from start to finish, with elements being subtly introduced throughout. There are trippy vocals, weighty bass hits and a groove that fits the Aus ethos just right.

Hungary-based artists Heaven INC. and Ákos Győrfy team up for a standout double A-side release, Fall To Pieces / Arrakis, on Francesco Pico's esteemed Magnitude Recordings.

The release opens with Heaven INC.'s original Fall To Pieces, a dreamy, melodic progressive house cut that blends lush atmospheres with emotive grooves. Ákos Győrfy follows up with a deeper, more introspective remix, offering a nuanced take that dives into the subtle side of the genre. The release closes with Arrakis, a collaborative effort between the two artists. With its rolling basslines and hypnotic drive, it's a peak-time progressive weapon destined for dance floors.

Radio Slave readies a double A-side to mark the 100th release on Rekids this February.

Having recently celebrated ten years, the consistency of music on Matt Edwards’ Rekids is indisputable with releases from Nina Kraviz, Mr. G, David Morales, Peggy Gou and DJ Deep to name a few. Aside
from his A&R abilities Edwards’ extensive understanding of electronic music is evident in his various pseudonyms. Amongst these Radio Slave is easily his most illustrious and most fitting for the seminal label’s milestone 100th release.

Containing all the hallmarks of a Radio Slave production, ‘Another Club’ merges looped vocals with thudding kicks as echoing stabs and infectious hats work their magic. On the flip, ‘Feel The Same’ is a
