Consideration. Focus. Deceleration. Pretty rare qualities in a time when the music industry serves, eats, chews, swallows and shits out dozens of bands every day. The device is “be quick or be dead”. The result is soulless, heartless and meaningless expression of shallow words and music.

The Blackout Argument slowed down in 2010. Not because of a lack of time or motivation but as a consequence of a rational decision. Having reached most of their personal goals and a good dose of “common music business goals” such as various European tours, constant media presence and positive press feedback and a long list of notable releases, the band more and more zeroed in on the true crux of playing in a band: music itself and its creation. Focusing on the quality and heart in everything they do, this shift in The Blackout Arguement’s self-concept and vision lead to the native but also longsome birth of their new album “Detention”.

Infact the creative process of “Detention” started in June 2009 already, when the first 5 songs were written and demo’ed. Since then The Blackout Argument have worked constantly on both, the album and the band itself. They wrote and recorded more than 20 songs, reworked them and let them mature in a constant cycle and finally tracked them at Suiseidl Studios (Munich, Germany) with highest care and considertion. Subsequently this creation was narrowed down to a selection of 12 harmonizing songs which in the end made up “Detention”, to be released in January 2011.

The Blackout Argument pride themselves over their effort to self-produce “Detention”, an approach that played another key role in (re-)coining the band. “Detention” is challenging and manifold yet extremely catchy and engaging. It creates a very sanguine mix of heavy rock and forward-thinking hardcore. It became nothing less than the album the band always wanted to create.

Embedded in this emotional and strategic agitation the move to a new label just came naturally. Sharing equal ideas, motivation and focus, Redfield Records were the perfect match and thus became the new home for The Blackout Argument.

This band is ready and excited to show off once more the great gap between them and all those short-lived, lukewarm and heartless bands. Bolstered by the songs of their upcoming album ‘Detention’ and sharp set for any stage on this planet, The Blackout Argument continue to build their reputation as a powerhouse of passion and authenticity.

Ein Zirkus – oder auch Circus – ist ein Unterhaltungsunternehmen oder eine Gruppe von Artisten, die eine Vorstellung mit verschiedenen artistischen (zirzensischen) Darbietungen zeigt. Elfenbein oder Ivory ist ein Begriff für Dentin, das den Großteil der Zähne und Stoßzähne von Tieren ausmacht. Es ist sowohl ein Inbegriff für makellose Schönheit, steht aber auch für Kraft, Stärke und Energie.
Wenn sich nun eine Band CIRCUS IVORY nennt, dann darf man wohl mit Recht EINIGES an Unterhaltung und Power erwarten.
Die fünf Bandmitglieder sorgen mit ihrer perfekten Bühnenshow für feinste Unterhaltung und bretterten in 2011 mit fetten Sounds und viel Power durch die Läden unserer Republik.
Mit ihrem geschliffenen Gitarrensound und den klaren Arrangements der Songs fesseln sie ihr Publikum. Donnernde Beats verleiten sogar eher zurückhaltende Menschen zum Tanzen und eine ausdrucksstarke Stimme verbindet all das zu einer eindrucksvollen alternativen Rock-Show, die bis auf das i-Tüpfelchen stimmig ist. Eine deutsche Band, die nichts dem Zufall überlässt.
Die keinem Trend hinterher hechelt. Wozu auch? Schließlich sind sie selber Trendsetter und wir werden noch viel von diesem Quintett hören


Wenn man die beiden Jungs von Incognito Music fragt wo eigentlich ihr Name herkommt, drucksen beide ein bisschen verlegen rum und müssen am Ende doch zugeben das sie keine Ahnung haben. Wovon beide jedoch einiges an Ahnung haben ist elektronische Tanzmusik.
Der erste offizielle Auftritt der beiden Cousins war die ausverkaufte Aftershow-Party zum Variete-Abend des Ratsgymnasiums. Seitdem stieg die Booking-Rate von Monat zu Monat an und mittlerweile zählt Incognito Music über 40 Bookings in knapp mehr als einem Jahr.
Auch Bookings in der Musikbox Minden, der Lug-Lounge Nienburg und für Minden loves House blieben nicht aus.
Seit Anfang 2012 sind die beiden Jung-Musiker jeden 3ten Freitag bei Crossover in der Musikbox anzutreffen, dort präsentieren sie einen frischen Mix aus mitreißendem Progressive-, erschütterndem Electro-House und verrücktem Dubstep.
Mittlerweile ist um Hannes und Tobi Schmidt in Minden kaum noch herumzukommen und jeder Fan der electronischen Tanzmusik hat sie mindestens einmal gehört.
Um ihr musikalisches Pensum noch zu erweitern haben sie nun angefangen nicht nur Musik zu spielen sondern auch zu produzieren und seit einigen Wochen sind die ersten eigenen Tracks in ihren Sets zu hören! Die beiden Jungs erwarten viel von sich selber und auch das Publikum kann gespannt bleiben.

Daraus entstand etwas Großartiges - die Band Letters and Trees.

Orientiert an Bandgrößen wie Kings of Leon, 30 Seconds to Mars, Dredg u.v.a., versuchen sie ständig mit Ihrer Vorstellung von guter Musik, schönen Synthesizer-Lines und klangvollen Soundscapes etwas eigenes zu schaffen, was man dann stilistisch als Electronic Post Rock definieren würde - mit Erfolg!

Der Sound ist, wie schon das Genre aussagt, sehr vielseitig: Zwischen rockig, hart, schnell, seicht, elektrisch und melodisch wird ein dichter Klangteppich erzeugt, der durchaus auch mal laut werden kann! Alles mit einer Vorliebe für Epik und Echo, zwischen ausgefeiltem Songwriting, wabernden Beats, effektvollen Gitarrenriffs und dem Spaß daran, diese Musik zu machen.
