I didn't understand it at the time. I fail to achieve any degree of understanding in the ensuing years, which are three in number. I presume Herb means that inherently you cannot be commercial and artistic. You cannot be commercial and quality. You cannot be commercial concurrent with have a preoccupation with the level of storytelling that you want to achieve. And this I have to reject. I don't think calling something commercial tags it with a kind of an odious suggestion that it stinks, that it's something raunchy to be ashamed of. I don't think if you say commercial means to be publicly acceptable, what's wrong with that?
As long as you are not ashamed of anything you write if you're a writer, as long as you're not ashamed of anything you perform if you're an actor, and I'm not ashamed of anything.
This is the area I know. But I think innate in what Herb says is the suggestion made by many people that you can't have public acceptance and still be artistic. And, as I said, I have to reject that.

The new single from Digitalism, ’Second Chance,’ receives an exclusive North America early release to support the launch of the bands 2014 Live show. Do not be fooled, this release will be a remarkable one, not least because it features Vocals from Jence, the first such single since ‘Circles’ in 2011 on Pryda/V2/Downtown. 

In fact ’Second Chance’ comes off sounding like the perfect mix of Digitalism’s classic sound and the direction introduced at the start of 2014. It seems fitting that Digitalism release such a track at the end of a year that divided opinion on their new direction, whilst being one of their most successful periods at radio. 

The lyrical content of ’Second Chance’ are that of a bitter-sweet lament detailing lost love and second chances taking the listener on as many ‘lows’ as it will take ‘highs.’ Prepare for a musical and physical journey with the release of ’Second Chance’ and the 2014 live tour, both exclusive to the US in October and November 2014.

’Second Chance’ will be released on 21st October 2014
Digitalism will open the North America tour at The Hoxton in Toronto 23rd October 2014.

1981, Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Jimmy Fosbury, an average teenager and local high jump champion, is running in the woods.

As far as he can remember, all he ever dreamed of was gold medals, fame and trumpets.
Despite being only 14, he's already spent most of his life training and perfecting his technique to qualify for the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.
However, this night, as he goes deeper and deeper in the forest, he knows something different is happening, as if the trees were trying to talk to him.
Jimmy decides to ignore his fear and follows the ghostly whispers in the moonless night. As he keeps running, he sees a lake, a lake he had never seen before in these woods he knew like the back of his hand.

He approaches the water when he suddenly hears a deep voice.

-"Jimmy, I know your dreams, I brought you here to make them real."

He can't believe it. It can't be IT, the legendary Tennessee Flying Werefox, right here, standing before his very eyes.

-"Give me your soul Jimmy, just your soul, and you will be the greatest athlete ever known to man." the Flying Werefox said.
-"But, but, I thought you were a just a myth, a legend!" replied Jimmy.
-"YOU ARE THE LEGEND JIMMY"

And this is how begins the legend of Jimmy Fosbury, the Chattanooga flying stud.
