Brame & Hamo are two chaps from Ireland who seem not to be able to make any mistake in their releases and online sets. Everything is just dope. Their killer release “Street Urchin EP” on Dirt Crew had to be repressed by popular demand. Brame also released on Drumpoet and Morris Audio. 
Whats so special about these guys is; they found a way of combing Hiphop and House in a way we have never heard before. They pull it of perfectly! Something this podcast will prove.  
Also good to know; they just started a new Vinyl only label Splendor & Squalour, we so happened to hear some previews and it sounds mint! 
We think their style can be described as uplifting strong Deephouse, with a flavour of HipHop and distinctive synths and stabs. 
So check out this podcast. It has some surprising factors!

Big up to these young fellas. We hope for a prospective future, we can not see it any other way!

Kapote loves the funk. And he loves Blaxploitation movies. The black underground cinema from the 1970ies. Kapote samples dirty talk from these movies and puts it on his bass lines. Melodic bass lines with a heavy 1970 funk vibe. Bass lines that can create a sexual tension. Kapote adds a few warm, jazzy Rhodes piano chords and a lot of reverbs and filtering. And the music rolls. Often more like a jam then like a constructed piece of music. In the highest points this music is pure endorphin. It’s 4 to the floor  - but it has a soulful analogue sound. Kapote says he was listening  to records from old Detroit label Red Planet and Parisian downtempo pioneers Motorbass and La Funk Mob while making this record. And yes, the vibe is there.
Like these guys Kapote likes to build his musical trips around snippets from old funk vinyl. Adding beats with vintage drum machines and creating an eclectic trip into a universe full of jazzy bits, noisy drums and dirty samples.

Fresh from steering us to the dancefloor with his ’Nightdriver’ EP on Robsoul – and a remarkable showcase on
Djebali earlier this month – Leiden craftsman Chris Stussy returns to Phil Weeks’ pedigree house imprint with
four more prime cuts of uncut house gold.
“Boogie Trippin” sums up the experience consummately as hip-flared jacks are wrapped with shimmering
touches and subtle filtered chords sweeps back and forth in the background. It’s backed up by three more
groove delights; “Flow Distinction” is shuffled and introspective but warm, gradually uplifting and laced with a
smoky alluring vocal, “Next To You” is a mid-evening slinky-piece with shiny percussive elements slithering over
the low-passed groove that gently opens out into a divine breakdown while “Selfless State” is a down home
peaktimer that flickers between lean jacks and a blazed disco break. Watch out of that swooping soul vocal as
it croons in overhead… Powerful stuff.
A firm face on the Robsoul roster now, Stussy’s getting hotter with every record. Don’t sleep.
