The wait is finally over, and the 19th instalment of the heralded In Search of Sunrise series has arrived. Markus Schulz proudly assumes responsibility for his sixth straight edition, and provides a comprehensive preview of what you can expect on In Search of Sunrise 19; as well as delving into the archives and showcasing memorable flashback pieces from recent and distant ISOS editions. 

Markus also provides showcase previews of artists participating alongside him in the inaugural edition of Transmission: Elysium, taking place in Arnhem, the Netherlands this Saturday.

For the second hour, Markus hands over to the two other protagonists behind In Search of Sunrise 19, with Ilan Bluestone (disc 2) and Daniel Wanrooy (disc 3) each providing 30 minute guestmixes to showcase some of the sounds contained in their entries.

Kriess Guyte Live @ Euphoria Weekender, Cabo Pool Party Malta 27.05.2024

I was the Saturday night resident DJ in the METRO Saltcoats nightclub in Ayrshire (Scotland) back in 1998 until 2000. 
If you've never heard of the club, it was arguably Scotland's #1 club away back in the day - and in July of this year, after a long 25 years, I returned to the infamous venue to play a 4.5 hour OTC 'trance classics' set to celebrate the music that I used to play back then - and also celebrate my 30th year as a DJ at the same time!

Here is the recording from the night, big thanks to everyone that I saw on the night, it was a big one!  :)

With a DJ career spanning over 20 years and having released tracks for nearly 10, Kriess continues to build a career that displays his life long love for electronic music. 

As a DJ he has travelled the globe, playing in cities such as Los Angeles, Sydney & Melbourne and recently playing at every edition of the Euphoria Weekender festival in Malta since 2022. Back in the UK he has spun at institutions such as Ministry of Sound, Turnmills, Camden Palace (Know known as Koko), SE1 and more. He has also promoted his own events; Perfected which ran both at the legendary venue ‘The Cross’ in London and on the south coast in Portsmouth, as well as running the Submerged boat parties on the Thames in London.

Since 2015 his tracks have been released on labels such as Outburst, Nocturnal Knights, Tidy Trax, Damaged, High Voltage, Mental Asylum, Pure Trance, Monster Tunes & more. His music has received multiple plays on Armin van Buuren’s A State Of Trance radio show and he’s reached the top 5 in the Beatport trance chart. Scene leading names such as Paul van Dyk, Ben Nicky, Ferry Corsten, Aly & Fila, Simon Patterson and many more have supported his work. 

His show ‘Synthsonic Sessions’ has been running since 2012 and has been his showcase for his style and taste as it has evolved alongside the scene. The regular format has been an hour of power, ebbing and flowing between various subgenres of trance and often other genres too. 

Kriess is often known for a techier edge to his sound, often also influenced by the early hedonistic rave days of the early 90’s. Alongside his cutting edge tastes, he is a student of the game in regards to the trance scene and as such is always willing to display his knowledge of the classics when requested.
