So recently I made this mashup of the new version of the classic 'Touch Me', which was released by Paul Oakenfold & Cassandra Fox for his recent album. It is a chilled out take on the massively successful original track by Rui de Silva, featuring Cassandra Fox again, released back in 2001.

Alongside it I had recently heard a track called 'Apolon' by Vertex & Suduaya, which is a balearic progressive psy trance track. 

I was playing around with incorporating both in an intro for a DJ mix, but they sounded so suited, and the same key that I decided to attempt a full on mashup. 

As I hope you can hear, the end result is that they seem to sit so well together, the combined Spanish guitars and the haunting piano keys just sit as if they were meant to be. 

Since the official remixes came out recently, I thought it would be a good time to share this. I hope you enjoy, please feel free to leave a comment if you so wish.

Xtraordinary Xijaro & Pitch (Tribute Mix)

With a DJ career spanning over 20 years and having released tracks for nearly 10, Kriess continues to build a career that displays his life long love for electronic music. 

As a DJ he has travelled the globe, playing in cities such as Los Angeles, Sydney & Melbourne and recently playing at every edition of the Euphoria Weekender festival in Malta since 2022. Back in the UK he has spun at institutions such as Ministry of Sound, Turnmills, Camden Palace (Know known as Koko), SE1 and more. He has also promoted his own events; Perfected which ran both at the legendary venue ‘The Cross’ in London and on the south coast in Portsmouth, as well as running the Submerged boat parties on the Thames in London.

Since 2015 his tracks have been released on labels such as Outburst, Nocturnal Knights, Tidy Trax, Damaged, High Voltage, Mental Asylum, Pure Trance, Monster Tunes & more. His music has received multiple plays on Armin van Buuren’s A State Of Trance radio show and he’s reached the top 5 in the Beatport trance chart. Scene leading names such as Paul van Dyk, Ben Nicky, Ferry Corsten, Aly & Fila, Simon Patterson and many more have supported his work. 

His show ‘Synthsonic Sessions’ has been running since 2012 and has been his showcase for his style and taste as it has evolved alongside the scene. The regular format has been an hour of power, ebbing and flowing between various subgenres of trance and often other genres too. 

Kriess is often known for a techier edge to his sound, often also influenced by the early hedonistic rave days of the early 90’s. Alongside his cutting edge tastes, he is a student of the game in regards to the trance scene and as such is always willing to display his knowledge of the classics when requested.
