The Northern Irishman’s blend of quirky Eurodance synths, uplifting trance grandeur and hard-hitting bass rhythms goes beyond catchy melodies and expert timing, as breakout hits “Lagoon” and “Youth” tap into the very essence of what makes a night spent on the dancefloor with your best mates such a special experience.

 

That’s why he’s earned more than 145 million views on TikTok, filled a Creamfields tent with thousands of ravers at 1 p.m. on a Sunday, and why he’s managed to get an official remix of Madison Avenue’s 1999 hit “Don’t Call Me Baby” after ripping the iconic vocal off the internet.

 

Crowds chant his name from Taiwan to Texas because Billy Gillies dares to do something different; something unique to himself. Now, Billy Gillies is the next superstar-DJ-in-the-making, poised to take over the world.

 

Billy’s musical obsession started in the 2000s when his older sister started buying Clubland compilation CDs and dating a local DJ. One night, the boyfriend came over and brought his decks, but when the couple left to go dancing, 11-year-old Billy snuck into his sister’s room and started playing with the turntables.

 

“I was like, ‘what is this music? I love this,’” he laughs. “On the Christmas list for that year was a set of decks.”

 

His mom delivered with his first set of Kam belt drives, and Billy’s been mad for mixing ever since. Each Saturday, he’d head out of the house with a five Pound note and spend it on a new record (Tiesto’s Traffic being particularly influential). In turn, he’d spend the next week learning to mix that record in and out of his steadily growing collection.

 

When he was 17, he got his first taste of true Clubland. A year underaged, he caught an hour-long bus from Belfast to Banbridge and talked his way into a club called Coach. Japanese DJ Yoji Biomehanika and the UK’s own Lisa Lashes dropped heavy hard-house records all night, and Billy started dreaming of his own chance to rock a crowd, proper.

 

He knew that if he wanted to be an in-demand DJ, he’d have to come up with some original songs. In 2011, he locked himself in his bedroom with a copy of Ableton Live and didn’t come out until he’d mastered the basic trance sound.

 

He fell in love with music production and started sending his tracks to BBC Radio 1 DJ Judge Jules, who played them on his show every Friday night. For 19-year-old Billy, there was nothing better.

 

After spending much of his 20s as a self-described “party animal,” 28-year-old Billy once again locked himself inside his bedroom and churned out a ton of original tunes. The result? A spot on the lineup of Luminosity 2019 alongside major trance legends Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Gareth Emery and more. He played a set of all-original material, and when a recording was posted to Soundcloud, it earned more plays than any of the headliners.

 

“I’d brung a fresh sound into the trance scene,” Gillies says. “Everyone was making the same type of thing, where I just look back at my influences growing up and crammed it into the main trance style.”

 

International booking requests flooded in, sending him to Argentina to Australia—and then COVID struck. Many of his peers saw no point releasing music to a locked-down crowd, but Billy saw a chance to experiment.

 

“People need music in hard times, not just for clubs,” he says. “The music I was making around that time was proper emotional melodies, and it was resonating with everyone.”

 

He’d share each tune in a rough clip to Facebook or TikTok, and every post brought shares in the thousands. His fan base wasn’t just growing, it was ballooning, due in part not only to his masterful skills in the studio but also his effervescent personality that spills into each tune.

Nikolauss is a highly-acclaimed music producer hailing from Romania, renowned worldwide for his exceptional talent in the trance music genre. His passion and determination to make his mark in the industry have only grown stronger over the years, and he is now at the top of his game.

Like most trance enthusiasts, Nikolauss was immediately captivated by the genre after hearing his first track many years ago, and his love for discovering the intricacies of each track led him to experiment and eventually launch his first track 10 years ago. Since then, he has become a regular with top labels such as Subculture, GO Music, Regenerate Recordings, FSOE, Armada Captivating, Statement! (Armada), Amsterdam Trance, and more.

With an impressive discography boasting both singles and collaborations, Nikolauss has had several tracks that reached the Top 10 Trance on Beatport. These include "Lifdagar", "We Are Not Alone", "Time", "Blaithin" (with John O'Callaghan), "Connected" (with Cold Blue), "Sensoji" (with Johan Gielen), "Saigon" (with Asteroid), "To The Stars" (with Peter Steele), and "Arya" (with Starpicker).

In addition to producing music, Nikolauss is also a skilled DJ, having played at major festivals in Romania like Untold and Afterhills, as well as smaller events organized by the Romanian Trance Family. He has also performed abroad, playing at Luminosity Beach Festival (2019, 2023), Luminosity at the beach (2021), Amsterdam Dance Event - Luminosity pres. Paul van Dyk (2018), Amsterdam Dance Event - Luminosity - This is Trance (2019), Subculture Bangkok, Subculture Melbourne and smaller events in Chisinau, Moldova, where he has been a strong supporter of the local trance community.

As a fun fact, Sean Tyas famously nicknamed him "Mr. 140" when they casually met at a trance party in Italy, and the nickname has stuck ever since, cementing Nikolauss's reputation for his unparalleled remixes and reworks.

Gaia-X is a Utrecht-born Dutch composer and electronic music producer. His musical journey began in 2007. Gaia-Xe is making a name for himself with a lineage of driving bass lines and his signature magical pads.

In August 2021, Gaia-X started his own music label Gaia-X Music and released several progressive and uplifting trance music. Gaia-X remixed several trance tracks, like Armin van Buuren Communication and Rank 1 Airwave. Also he remixed the main theme from Interstellar movie composed by Hans Zimmer in a intensely uplifting trance style.

In July 2022, Gaia-X make his first steps in de techno scene. He recorded techno tracks in a continues sequence and make up an electronic story about his passion of the Universe. His goal is too take the listener on a journey into a modern style of techno and trance music.

Rob Evans is no stranger to a good night. Having experienced the vibe from the legendary Escape night club. Room one was a haven for driving and melodic trance beats. And Room twos funky sounds Rob was mesmerised by the likes of Paul Van Dyke and local hero DJ Alan Tomlinson(Big AL) and Cliff and Bern Knowing that his heros are advocates of vinyl djing, Rob was destined for a pair of turntables. Having locked himself away for years practicing the art of djing with constant frustration, Rob slowly developed the art and the ear required for djing. It is safe to say that Rob took a lot influences from the vibes of the 90s and brought them into the future with plenty of practice. 

Learning the sacred art of vinyl djing, Rob slowly picked up many gigs in the local scene. 
Rob soon found himself on the same roster as his idols playing in Escape before the building was sadly closed. He then went onto play a more intermit crowd in Club Oxygen. Having to adapt for the different venues he was playing for, Rob soon discovered another love for progressive house. Combining the melodic progressions in trance and the driving beats from progressive house, Rob was soon caught in the gaze of some legendary venues up and down the country. One of the biggest achievements was playing in Ministry of Sound in London, which shows how much of a crowd collaborator Rob is. Soon after Rob found himself wrapped up in the awe of playing for none other than Cream Ibiza tour with Agnelli and Nelson He found himself up and down the country playing for different crowds but being allowed to play the music he is a catalyst for. 

Rob certainly impressed the audience with his selection of music. In 2010 Rob fell in love with House music again and started pushing his new sound Rob is now back on lineups all over Uk for the likes of New Town and the 90s events that are popping up everywhere. It’s safe to say Rob has a profound knowledge of djing and musical tastes and he is looking to repeating the same old mantra, that he has represented for all his years of djing in London and beyond.

Robert Kostecki, better known as DJ Bobby Janpho [Jan-po] displays a passion for harder and darker trance music.

Supported by artists like Paul Van Dyk, with releases on Future Force and NASHWA Music, Bobby is part of a growing generation of artists that combine classics with new releases. Residing in Toronto, Bobby Janpho helps promote local events to any enthusiastic trance community. Starting off as a local radio DJ at University, Bobby Janpho quickly grew popularity for mixing mashups on the fly that were new fusions of trance music.

Growing up, Bobby began his DJ journey playing at local clubs, underground parties and even making it onto the main-stage at The Guvernment (8th Place In DJ Mag’s Top 100 Club List, 2008). Then upon graduating and pursuing a full-time career outside of music, Bobby Janpho travelled the world promoting trance music further in Switzerland, France, Thailand and even Bhutan under a different alias.

Settling in Toronto Bobby Janpho is reigniting his love for trance music and wants the world to enjoy its hypnotic baselines, uplifting melodies and pure harmonic vocals. As the future unfolds, Bobby Janpho will continue to bring you quality dance music that the genre has to offer.
