This is a live version of Krishna Das' "Sita Ram", performed live at my yoga studio Sadhana Healing Arts on January 11, 2014. Performing with me are Rhada Govinda on mridanga and percussion, Iván Belvis Navarro (percussion), Elvin Orta (harmonium & djembe), and Lilliam Torres and Laura Nazario on Background vocals.

This Mantra wards off fear of deaths and accidents of all descriptions such as motor-accidents, fire-accidents, cycle-accidents, water-accidents, air-accidents. Besides, it has a great curative effect when chanted with sincerity, faith and devotion by anybody or in any place where you wish to create a positive, protective and high energy environment. This Mantra is also chanted during auspicious occasions such as initiation ceremonies,  and other occasions related to life, business that will bestow on you health, long life, peace, prosperity and Moksha.

My dear friend Mino Vergnaghi from Italy who is an astounding sound healer and I have come together on a sunny day in Bali where we both live since many years, sharing our love for mantras and sound. 

Our reverence for the Vedic culture, sacred mantras, sound and music has sparked this collaboration. 

Today I felt like sharing it so that you can enjoy it and receive Durga Devi's blessing. She gives strength, helps us to find courage and persistence to stay with difficult times. 

It was our first recording in Mino's friend music studio. Thank you to both of you for embellishing with your instruments this sacred chant. 

Gratitude to my revered teacher for passing on his passion for Vedic chanting. It has blessed my heart so profoundly, may it bless yours as well.

Krishna Das is one of the most popular singers of Indian devotional music in the world. Layering traditional Hindu kirtan with instantly accessible melodies and modern instrumentation, Krishna Das has been called yoga's "rock star." With a remarkably soulful voice that touches the deepest chord in even the most casual listener, Krishna Das – known to friends, family, and fans as simply KD – has taken the call-and-response chanting out of yoga centers and into concert halls, becoming a worldwide icon and the best-selling western chant artist of all time. His album ‘Live Ananda’ (released January 2012) was nominated for a Grammy in the Best New Age album category.  He released a string of well-received albums including "PILGRIM HEART", "BREATH OF THE HEART" and "DOOR OF FAITH," the former featuring the vocals of KD fan Sting, and the latter two both produced by Rick Rubin and utilizing, at the producer's request, a palette of traditional Indian instrumentation.
