My original concept for this album was to keep things simple; 'Just' the Hare Krishna maha mantra, short intros, sparse arrangements and short tracks. I pretty much stuck to that, although I did record way more instrumentation than I had planned, just couldn't resist it.
Once I'd written the melodies I recorded the album track by track, recording all the instruments one by one, then I did the vocals, then I mixed and mastered.

Although the word kirtan has come to mean call-and-response chanting, involving musical instruments and ancient mantras, in the simplest terms kirtan means to glorify.
