Complex Sessions 030: Green Velvet

When we started this venture back in September, @christophesalin was one of the first artists we reached out to about recording a mix, after we fell in love with "Like a Call."

He's one of Lübeck's finest exports, and we've been eagerly awaiting his mix landing on Scottish shores. When we caught up with him, he let us know that this mix was birthed on a digital detox; with just two turntables, a mixer, an old Akai filter module and a bottle of French wine.

This natural ability to translate storytelling into his art is undoubtedly one of the draws of his music and sets, and makes for invigorating listening.

This year has been an exciting one for him and his wife Daria, as they also co-run @salinrecords a platform for art and electronic music. The two appear to make an effective team as 2018 has seen them launch their first VA EP: "Beyond Salty Island" - go check it out now if you haven't had a chance too yet. It's a multinational journey through house music, and well worth a purchase (available on vinyl and digital).

After a busy year, Christophe and Daria are looking forward to some well deserved time off, before we're sure, there will be more music on the horizon.
