Fivos Valachis

relaxing piano music

The National Numismatic Greek Museum, commissioned me for the original music for an exhibition, sponsored by the International Council of Museums (icom.museum) dedicated to Antinous (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antinous).
The opening day is May 18, the International Day of Museums.
Many SC artists of great value, are participating, to create arrangements, with their unique musical taste with surprising results!
The pieces are in artist's name alphabetical order.

Numbered albums will be printed and presented to special guests (ministers, intellectuals, journalists, TV etc.) and there after the album will be distributed.
The tracks are: "Momentum", "Pathos" and "Lament".

In the album will be included 3 arrangements of the Triptych, chosen by the managers of the event, with the credentials of the SC musicians that made it.

I got a lot of inspiration when I first heard “A Greek in Vienna” so I first tried to play it by ear. The melody sounded then again in my mind having more acoustic orchestral elements, and then I thought about the idea of re-orchestrating it. I studied the recording you did in more detail (to try to reconstruct the piano), and I ended up adding some orchestral bits that seemed nice to me.

I used (virtually): a piano, an oboe,  bells, marching drums, some flutes I synthesized myself, two cellos, a string section in the background, a choir, and lots of programming for my electronic keyboards – starting from scratch.

At that time I met a stranger, her story was sad and her voice gentle.. She saw and heard what no one should.. She suffered a lot. I recorded lullaby for her to make our world quieter, less scary, cold nights warmer. Many times my music was written by empathy, maybe this one is an illusion of fear that we pass through. It seems to weep over the idea of utopia, happiness. Everything needs a little bit of silence .. Even music..
