Kronos

In January and February 2020, Kronos coached student ensembles from Oakland School for the Arts, San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM), and San Francisco Unified School District’s Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts. They learned string quartets from "Fifty for the Future: The Kronos Learning Repertoire" in preparation for the "Kronos Music: The Future Is Now"  community concert. Collected here are the works that Kronos and the 80 students will perform on February 6th at SFCM in San Francisco.

Kronos' Fifty for the Future is an education and legacy project that is commissioning – and distributing for free – the first learning library of contemporary repertoire for string quartet.
