Ziplok


Erik Roger Diener (born September 6, 1978), known professionally as Ziplok, is an American producer, rapper and entrepreneur.

Early life


Erik Roger Diener. was born in Nashua, New Hampshire, on September 6, 1978, to Doreen Cunningham and Roger Diener, who are from Vermont and Connecticut. Diener’s family moved to Hudson, New Hampshire.  From kindergarten to 8th grade, Diener attended Tabernacle Christian School in Hudson,New Hampshire  and attended Alvirne High School. Diener got a GED in 1999.

Career


In 1998 under the alias Mr. E, Diener purchased his first microphone and Tascam 4 Track recorder and began recording instrumentals and local artists from the Boston area.

In 2000 moves to Clearwater, Florida and changes name to Ziplok furthermore naming the studio Ziplok Studio. In 2001 Ziplok went to Installer Institute in Holly Hill, Florida to learn advance speaker placement and car audio and security. In 2002 releases the mixtape Big Mouths Yapping Volume 1 eventually to return to New Hampshire in 2004 to release his first solo release Zip It Up EP. In 2007 Ziplok releases his first full length album Internet Fire his first LP. In 2008 Diener was co-signed to hip hop super producer Bang Out and recorded the two hit songs Ur A Hata and Whiteboys which both songs are on the album titled Ziplok released in 2012. Also that same year Diener released the single NASA featuring Rampage The Last Boy Scout.

In 2011 Diener moves back to Saint Petersburg, Florida where he recorded his first music video Excuse Me with production from Bang Out the same year moving again to Atlanta, Georgia. 

From 2011-2016 Diener stayed in Atlanta, Georgia and recorded and released the song Turn Up feat. Young Dirty Bastard and also performing at many clubs in the Atlanta area.  

In 2019 Ziplok created the independent record label Marijuana Records signing himself as a producer and rapper with all future releases under that name for publishing.

From 2016-2020 Diener worked with many artists and shortly lived in Houston, Texas, Fayetteville, North Carolina, Columbia South Carolina, Saint Petersburg Florida and by 2020 returned back to Clearwater Beach, Florida to celebrate 20 years where it all officially started.

Megaciph is a socially conscious writer using his music to address social issues, advance progressive thinking and heal himself. A veteran, a husband, a father, a home chef and a voice for the voiceless Megaciph carries the banner of peace throughout his work and life. Through his music selections and the writings we are transported to a place of deep feeling thereby allowing the process of healing to begin.
In 2006 he self published his first solo album, The Graduate Program. In 2008 Megaciph enrolled at The New School University to begin post graduate studies in Nonprofit Management. Three years later in 2011, he self published his sophomore solo album, Migration of the Soul’d Kind and completed his M.S. Nonprofit Management with a focus on Arts and Culture.

From November 2010 until March 2013 Megaciph founded and hosted The Vital Movement in Manhattan's Lower East Side; a weekly open mic/concert event that provides independent artists with a viable community for sharing their art. As an independent artist and promoter Megaciph put together hundreds of shows, gave thousands of artists a stage, and brought in talent from as far north as Toronto and as far south as Zimbabwe. At the same time he was working full time at the Harlem Children’s Zone as a teaching artist; teaching NYC youth to write poetry, rap music and the finer points of performance. Megaciph holds a BS in Composition and Rhetoric, with a minor in Music Management, 2006, from Georgia State University and a Master’s in nonprofit management, 2010, from The New School University.

In 2014 Megaciph published CIVILiAM; an album inspired by his four years of service in the USMC. The album is filled with true stories and anecdotes from his tours in Okinawa, Cuba and service here in the states. With plans for the next few albums already brewing for an ever growing body of work Megaciph has stayed a consistent force in the Hip-Hop universe; releasing his first mixtape in 2015 The Now and Later Mixtape vol. 1 quickly followed by the 14 track collaboration with producer James Data titled CodeSwitching which landed Megaciph a coveted distribution deal on the AWAL record label, and the journey into sound continues. Through the pandemic Megaciph pens and publishes multiple singles and two more albums between 2018 and 2022 tackling the issues of the time from the Black Lives Matter uprising on the single BLM: America In Style, the COVID19 pandemic and numerous other social issues on the Steve Wallace produced album Dirty South Chronicles, and of course the attempted coup of 2020 on the album CHAKRAS 2.0. 
Stepping into 2024 Megaciph is poised for an industry takeover as the popular wave shifts back to the positive/uplifting music this artist is known for. His forthcoming release FREAKWHENSEE crosses generations and bends genres delivering messages of daily life, fatherhood and the big stage dreams of an independent rap artist who won’t stop, don’t stop! #hiphoppapoppa
