He grew up in a father-less home as the only child &, as a latch-key kid. 
His Grand Father,(August "Gus" Jackson), was his Father figure & role-model up in till his demise in the late 80's. 

His mother gave him his first cursive writing book at the age of 5... From there he tailored his writing skills & observation skills.
