Lost In The Beige

A somatic and sonic journey into Red Sprites.
Ecstatic to share my depiction of these through the medium of music
Leading up to the release I asked the question, apart from their general allure as a fascinating, powerful phenomenon, how do I relate with these as beings?

Well when you look at the structure you notice their dendritic electrical formations are not so dissimilar from the formations of the root structures of plants. And in turn, also dissimilar to that of the structure of our own body's neural pathways.
These Sprites fall under the umbrella of a 'Transient, Luminous Event'
I find that we, as humans, as sentient beings, experience transient luminosity all the time.
Whether it be through momentous spikes of inspiration, when we lock into a topic or task, our brains may be lighting up in that same way, that same flashing ionic reaction which causes us to scintillate into excitatory experience.
The nature of transience being subject to whatever stretch of time we compare it to. With this in mind, our very lives as a whole could be considered 'Transient, luminous events'. Where the luminosity projects inward and outward as soon as we animate into this world.

TLDR: above so below etc etc we are the red sprites of the ground level of earth so big up yaself ya mad jesus

This is a track I have spent endless hours on creating the sound design, and the first song that I felt comfortable to play in my sets. Its designed to make you move and flow in a natural way, through the melodies and the carefully crafted bass lines. I hope you enjoy! Many more to come.

Les Humeurs de Jynx est une série de podcasts bass music qui proposent aux artistes invité•es de s'exprimer librement sur une émotion particulière. Pour ce quatrième épisode, lyzyl et Soleil Sauvage vous proposent une quête méditative sur les chemins de la sérénité, tout en douceur et en poésie.

"C’est une partie de mon intimité que je révèle, de mon jardin secret avec des genres de musique qui me font particulièrement du bien, qui m’aident à traverser des moments difficiles ou simplement à aimer la vie encore plus.

Ça me fait bizarre de partager cette partie de mon hypersensibilité, je ne l’ai jamais fait car c’est un sentiment très dur à exprimer juste au travers de l’écoute d’une track ou deux ou à expliquer verbalement, même à mes proches.

L’hypersensibilité c’est tout ressentir x1000 : les odeurs, le toucher, le goût, les émotions, la vue, l’ouïe. C’est pleurer de bonheur, nostalgie, tristesse, mélancolie, angoisse, colère, amour, peur, de tout et de rien.

Quand Alix m’a proposé pour « sérénité » j’étais ravie, je me suis dis que c’était l’occasion rêvée de faire découvrir une partie de moi, que j’avais abandonné d’expliquer faute de compréhension, à laquelle chacun·e y sera réceptif.ve à sa façon à travers ce mix.

Je ne pensais pas que ça allait me bouleverser autant, c’est quelque chose que j’ai l’habitude de vivre seule. Tiraillée par mes envies de partir le plus loin possible quotidiennement et rester pour mes obligations, il m’arrive de dissocier.

Alors la sérénité c’est un concept que je poursuis depuis des années, que j’arrive à trouver, comme pour chacun·e, dans des moments et environnements bien particuliers qui me sont chers et où mes sens sont tous détendus et tournés vers un positif intense, un lâcher prise. Malheureusement ces moments ce font rares et quand je souffre de son absence c’est grâce à la musique que je me permets de m’échapper, de partir et peut être l’atteindre le temps d’une écoute.
