Starlight on My Face

Chris and Karli met the first time in 1997 at the age of 16, when they formed their first band with friends. After some years they disbanded and moved on to new bands and musical projects. Now after 20-something years Karli and Chris met again. At an age where nothing really matters anymore they decided to start to listen to some old tapes and reels. Getting back to the vibes of the summer of '97 they decided to re-visit some of the old songs. 1000 CRIES is the first song - an forgotten demo recording from that aera - Chris and Karli re-wrote and re-recorded. Soon after starting to work on the old songs they opted to take the project further and also record new stuff. 

The plans are made, the sun is set, the beer is cold, new music soon will emerge - here.

I am a freestyle metal / alternative rock artist and heavily influenced by 80s music in general.

The raging wars serve as a catalyst for the lyrics in most of the existing and upcoming songs. It seems that killing each other is the only way forward as written in the lyrics on the song - The Violent Ones.

The human suffering is beyond belief, it needs to END now. War Metal as I see it, is to write lyrics about the insanity of war and not to forget those who died ... 

These are some of the dark layers of life

TAPATORA name has multiple meanings. It is an ancient name for a male that was mainly used in Finland. It is also the name of an island near Tampere and if you translate it in English, it means kill the quarrel / dispute / wrangle.

LORRIDI is a Folk/Viking Power Metal one-man band by Jan Magne Garte. Taking inspiration from the sagas of the viking age and norse mythology, Garte creates vivid images of the old gods and warriors through his music and lyrics.

Born in Norway, 1971. At the age of 16, Jan Magne Garte played bass in different bands starting in the mid '80s. Growing in popularity and opening for some of the most popular Norwegian Rock bands at the time. By the early 2000s, Garte started expanding his repertoire by singing songs himself and switching from bass to guitar.

Around the same time his parental duties would start to take the focus from the music, and his career as a musician   took a hiatus for almost two decades. Now after all this time, his love for making music has truly rekindled and the old musician has returned. 

All of his music is heavly influenced by the songs of his youth, from genres such as '80s hard rock, heavy metal, thrash, but also taking notes from the next generation of musicians.

Garte also has another solo project under his own name. 
All tracks were composed, arranged, recorded and mastered by Garte himself.

I love how SC brings folks together from all around the world. I've had the opportunity to collab with new friends everywhere from TX (wazzup Tom?) to Germany (proud to officially be called a "Lunatic" with Hendrik and Jorg) to Holland (cheers, Marco!)to Spain (the incomparable Ms King)...to Japan (trading blues licks with Keit)...and hopefully more in the near future.

Mix and Mastering was done in the „N.o.b.S. Moonshine Studios“ in Mainz Germany.
Nearly everything had been recorded during the night, sometimes at daylight on weekends.

🎸We are a five-piece studio band mixing different genres and influences into our own sound.

The band has existed since 2015, but we only started publishing on SoundCloud and other platforms in 2024. Many of the songs we’ve released so far are reboots of tracks we wrote years ago, in case you were wondering how we managed to release over 100 tracks in one year. Before 2024 we only published on our own blog (which is now gone, replaced by a new one we barely use), so our audience was limited to a few hundred friends and acquaintances.
We’re not professional musicians! We have other jobs, and we don’t even consider ourselves musicians, at most entertainers and awareness-raisers.
