My set from last night's event Dance For Jude at Strobe in Plymouth dedicated to the memory of Judy Roberts and to raise money for St Luke's Hospice and her son.  All of us haven't played together on the same night for years so dug right back into our roots playing older trance bits we used to play at Dance Academy.  Was a good get together.

The tape lies somewhere between oldschool & contemporary hip hop & soul vibes, early 2000s slow jams, trip hop, and RnB classics. It’s meant to set a mood and tell a story, revisiting and cherishing memories, focusing on what I feel is underrated these days: love and intimacy— possibly with a little humorous twist here and there because taking oneself too seriously is overrated. Stay silly ❤️

I haven’t had the chance to record a mix in quite a while but here we are, Was able to get this out there on a cold Sunday Evening 🥶

Decided for this one to start slow and settle into the mix before building the energy and attempting to layer and blend tracks across 3 channels just to hear the progress on it 😊

Ranging from hypnotic n wavey jams to driving heavy beats topped off with some euphoric closers 💃

The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning.
