Overview

The Rebel Panda Riddim is the first journey into the Music x Fashion project. This marriage bore its first fruits in the form of Jamaican-born, Vincentian-based DJ, John Rickards aka Captain John’s very first production. The project, co-produced by Vincentian producer, Kubiyashi, features some of Vincy’s top artistes - Skinny Fabulous, Problem Child as well as young veteran in the business Hance, new comer Reka and some Antiguan energy by way of multiple Soca Monarch champion Tian Winter. The element of fashion is achieved by a close collaboration with Vincentian fashion brand, Peta Odini and its Animal Farm series print, Rebel Panda.

The Rebel Panda print inspired the artwork for all the tracks, created by graphic design maverick Nadia Huggins.

See, the Rebel Panda Riddim isn’t just about sound, but also about lifestyle, and as

such, a Rebel Panda Riddim printed apparel series will be created for Rebel Pandas stepping to the riddim of this soundtrack series.

It is incomparable. 

That feeling of losing yourself in masses of masqueraders and finally healing as your soul becomes whole in the surrendering and sharing of an indescribable camaraderie. 

Such a perfect fusion though, can only occur through music; and it is with this thought at the forefront, Precision Productions alongside Parliament Music have come together to cement those bonds between us all, in the rapturous sounds of the "Jam Band Riddim". 

With a melody which causes bodies to mash together in harmony, only one further component is necessary to make this riddim exceptional and guarantee merriment in the streets. A diverse but spirited array of voices, something this release has in spades. 

Newcomer Shradah McIntyre showcases her stunning vocals, along with versatile artist Erphaan Alves. Also lining up are the current Power Soca Monarch of Antigua and Barbuda, Ricardo Drue, with Trinidad and Tobago's former Groovy Monarch Kees Dieffenthaller, as well as recent Soul Train Award winner Machel Montano, rounding out the outstanding performers featured. 

This combination of talent and jubilant music will certainly have everyone jamming zealously together as their spirits flow in one festive voice for Carnival 2015.

Dem Vincy - Mason

Merging the world of Afro and Soca comes this latest record from Skinny Fabulous.  How hard is it to see the object of your affection give it away to someone else.  Skinny tells it all in a more than daring way on this Kubiyashi produced record. Championing the carnival music scene and delivering as usual his peppery lyrics in a jovial yet serious manner, this record has it all - a fusion of Caribbean energy, mixed with African prose.

We meet strangers, old friends, distant lovers - these are moments that are sparse and few.  Innocent and as untainted as it may seem it would be best to just leave it in the zone. The Day Dream Riddim is a fusion of Vintage style Soca, with the percussions and drumming, the        instrumentation's Rhythmic and tonal balancing of Bouyon and Modern day Pop culture. The synth and Acoustic guitar strumming adds stability to the structure which creates the ambiance for the construction of various vocal flavors, from Ragga to sweet groovy, that compliments the riddim.
