The homie Benji B has a stellar radio show on BBC/Radio1. When he did a a special on my hometown of Montreal (March 2016) he was gracious enough to ask me to make a special mix for it. So I attempted to toss a bunch of genres and eras (and languages!) in a 30 min mix. Gramatik - Day Of The So Called Glory

MODUS cannot be put categorized or put into a genre specific box. He is truly original and against the grain when it comes to his productions. Although much of his music has dance floor drum arrangements , the other qualities remain unique. Incredibly raw, jazzy, modular, and 8 bit are just some of the sound qualities that come to mind . Residing from Genoa Italy, its easy to see connection of rawness that is behind MODUS and his productions which is synonymous to lot of Italian underground dance music. With similar experimental and  jazzy vibe like Mystic Jungle but with an industrial/hip hop/ dance floor edge.

Our latest V.A DMC004 includes a track from MODUS titled ''Congratulations'' which sounds like a  crunchy, energy packed, warehouse track retrofitted for an arcade.

All of the music in the mix is 100% original material from MODUS. Some of it being released and unreleased.

Kubus is a dutch producer, mainly known as the man behind some of the most upfront and extraordinary hiphop productions to appear during the last decade in the Netherlands. Unlike other hiphop producers, Kubus’ roots go back to the early rave days, where raw analogue beats and brutal electronics melted together into something unheard before. It is therefor no surprise that his unique style is a fusion of techno, electro and hiphop. Throughout the years he expanded his own borders and experiments on a daily basis with some of the finest modular- and hardware synths, constantly in search of new, wicked sounds.
it therefor comes as no surprise that his first solo album 'Kick-Snare-Snicker'  really delivers! On top of that, production-wise, he constantly pushes his recordings into another stage of perfection – often using unconventional gear and techniques. Like a scientist in a laboratory.
