I thought I'd set a challenge for myself while learning the Intellijel Atlantix by making a track with 100% sounds created with the module. From percussion, bass, pads, and chords, to textural effects, everything was created with the Atlantix and recorded into Ableton where I layered sounds and built out an arrangement. 

Added some slight compression and reverb/delay to certain tracks using Valhalla Delay, VintageVerb, and FutureVerb.

I'll take another pass at this track to sub out some sounds — particularly the chords, as I don't like how they sit in the mix, and sequencing and recording each note of the chord individually and layering in Ableton was a faff.

Overall, enjoyed the experiment and learnt a lot about what the Atlantix is capable of! Constraints breed creativity.

JMT DNVO through the Walrus JANUS [distortion+tremelo] and the JOMOX T Resonator II [multi-fx- I was using the reverb setting]. The 4MS modular with the Korg SQ-1 is creating the plodding rhythm, it reminded me of John Carpenters THING soundtrack and inspired the whole session. Thank you for listening.

Drone/Noise set [DNVO-1 + 4MS Modular]

Rob Gourley explores two distinct but complementary territories. Night Cinema excavates cinematic atmospheres, chopping French film dialogue, soul samples, and noir orchestration into trip-hop that sounds like surveillance footage left running in empty European hotels. His debut EP "Ciné Mort" is five pieces of beautiful decay: melancholic, shadowy, haunted by forgotten reels.

Slow Carrier moves into more patient terrain, where modular synth patches unfold without urgency. Here, Gourley designs slowly evolving soundscapes—textural, ambient, meditative. Where Night Cinema samples the past, Slow Carrier generates the present moment.
Both projects share an exploratory ethos: prioritizing atmosphere, embracing analog imperfection, and letting sounds breathe. One digs through archives, the other builds from voltage. Together, they map the space between memory and transmission.

Gathering what strays by day, folding it into unspoken order by night. A keeper of pieces no eye can count. I dream for you.

My musical journey began in a castle, somewhere between bohemian dreams and raw concrete.
As an unnamed duo of art students, we spent our nights in the adjoining 40-square-meter bunker from World War II - no mobile phones, no internet, just cold stone, tangled power cables, and torn-up grunge riffs.
After that band ended in 1995, a whole new world of electronic sounds opened up for me and endless loops spun through sleepless nights.

Then came Berlin, and with it, new possibilities.
There’s this saying: "If you remember the ’90s, you weren’t really there."

At some point, I drifted into other things and put music aside for a while.
Until that memorable week in the park, just before COVID: I met a philosophy professor from New York, touring Europe, who tried to numb his post-op pain with red wine and oxycodone. He kept talking about his dream of recording a song. So I took him in, got some mics and an interface, and after a week, we had produced his love song—radio-ready and brimming with lovely magic.

That spark led me back to my own path: In search of new and inspiring sounds, I discovered the Elements by Mutable Instruments and dove headfirst into the world of modular synthesis. Ever since, I’ve been stuck deep in the rabbit hole - when it comes to choosing between new shoes and a new VCA, music usually wins.

Then, in 2022: a roadside, a spontaneous party, everything I owned that could run on 9 volts in my bag. My first live performance - improvised, raw, honest. What’s grown and evolved from there, I call:
"Weird tones on the way to their mission"
