« Un beso para construir un sueño » es una canción compuesta por Bert Kalmar , Harry Ruby y Oscar Hammerstein II . En 1935, Kalmar y Ruby escribieron una canción titulada «Moonlight on the Meadow» para la película de los Hermanos Marx «Una noche en la ópera » (1935), pero la canción no se utilizó. Hammerstein adaptó posteriormente la letra para que fuera «Un beso para construir un sueño» y fue grabada por Louis Armstrong en 1951.

También fue interpretada por Mickey Rooney con William Demarest , por Sally Forrest y por Kay Brown (prácticamente todo el elenco interpretó parte o toda la canción) en la película The Strip de 1951 , y fue una especie de tema recurrente en la película. La canción fue nominada al Premio de la Academia a la Mejor Canción Original en 1951, pero perdió ante « In the Cool, Cool, Cool of the Evening ».
Otra grabación popular fue realizada por una de las estrellas invitadas de la película The Strip , Monica Lewis , y a principios de 1952, la versión de Hugo Winterhalter y su orquesta , con el vocalista Johnny Parker, llegó a la lista Pop 20 en los Estados Unidos.
