SABANA GRANDE cuenta la historia campesina de la zona sur de Costa Rica y la tradición más profunda de una región culturalmente rica y diversa, en el pasado la economía campesina era sinónimo de trabajos cooperativos y las familias se reunían para trabajar, a cambio de su trabajo sus vecinos compartían comida, chicha de maíz y mucha fiesta. 

El álbum es un sencillo que contiene matices de la cumbia sabanera de Panamá y Colombia, la cual tiene una gran influencia en el sur de Costa Rica, pero además contiene un remix producido por los productores sudamericanos Pinchado de Argentina y Tribilin Sound quienes subrayan los aspectos melancólicos y profundos a través del dub en un experimento atractivo y atrevido.

Wakan Tanka Records presenta Cumbia Pacheca Volumen 1, el primer disco de el Barba dub. 7 tracks cumbieros con alta dosis de dub, humo y psicodelia. 
Un material que tiene una combinación justa entre lo digital y lo orgánico gracias a la incorporación de percusiones y agradables melodias aportadas por los sonidos de trompetas, organos y guitarras. Todo esto dio como resultado 1528 segundos de un constante viaje sonoro.
En este disco colaboraron músicos amigos del artista de su misma ciudad de origen, Tucumán, Argentina.

Galletas Calientes Records proudly present their latest production: the “Palenque Records AfroColombia Remix" series. 
Since the mid 90's, Palenque Records have been actively promoting the Afro-Colombian music and culture. 
Palenque Records' original artists, such as Son Palenque, Abelardo Carbono, Sexteto Tabala, Batata y Su Rumba Palenquera, Colombiafrica The Mystic Orchestra.., living testimonies of how much Africa has influenced traditional music in Colombia, have developed a remarkable culture, collaborating with african musicians such as Diblo Dibala or Bopol Mansiamina. 
Most of them are considered to be the precursors of “Champeta", a unique musical genre setting its roots in the west-african Soukous and folklore. This music is the origin of the very interesting "picó” culture of the Caribbean coast of Colombia.
The Afro-Colombian legacy is also represented by other artists such as Gualajo, known for their marimba playing skills, typical instrument of the “Currulao” music from the pacific coast of Colombia. 
The purpose of this remix series is to pay a tribute to Palenque Records who are celebrating 20 years of musical activism in 2016, by releasing some versions of the original songs, produced by the finest artists from today’s worldwide "Global bass" scene. 
Remixes and edits from Dj Sabo (U.S.), Rafael Aragón (FR), Motin (DE), Ghetto Kumbé (CO), and Solo Moderna (NL) are featured on this first volume.
Notice the colourful sleeve, originally hand painted by William “El Maestro" Gutierrez, one of the most reknowned "pico" sound-system visual artists from Barranquilla Colombia

Last winter solstice I released my last EP “Bundok” (mountain) and announced that I would be releasing a new EP every solstice and equinox. I’m happy to announce that my Spring EP “Island Blooms” is here!
In this 3 track EP you’ll find: metallic gong sounds of the Philippine kulintang layered over afrobeat, moombahton and cumbia. Brazilian baile funk patterns remixed with rhythms that came from my hands/heart/ancestors. Moombahsoul, jazzy chords and funky breaks with a healthy dose of assorted percussion and a hint of vocal. Flavors of the world that somehow found their way to my shore and that I reflected back through my Northeast Los Angeles, Filipina-American style.

'Quero Mais' is Lua Preta's latest single that has also become their biggest hit up to date. Featuring the ever-fresh intercontinental production from Mentalcut that bridges Africa and Europe, Ms. Gia's bold rapping verses and the guest vocal appearance from the one and only Morena Leraba from Lesotho, the song quickly caught attention of both the press and DJs all around the world. 

The concept of a remix EP seemed irresistible and the result comes in a form of 'Quero Mais Remixes EP' which brings four reworks from top players in the game. The journey starts with Jowaa - the Accra-based duo consisting of Benjamin Lebrave, head of Akwaaba Music, and Gafacci, one of the most promising African producers of his generation - who have just followed their last year's killer singles with a releae of 'Asokpor 1.0 EP'. Next up is Ugandan dancer and producer Faizal Ddamba Mostrixx whose 2017's 'Tribal Match' was one of the most valuable albums in the continent's electronic music scene and definitely one of the most important debuts. 

Then European producers come into play. Italy's Lorenzo_BITW who famously collaborated with Mina on a perfect jam 'Tombura' few years ago, now polished 'Quero Mais' into a lovely laid back tune just as he prepares for the release of his debut album out in June on Friends on Friends label. The last track hides a real gem created by the exceptional mind of Rafael Aragon who transferred the original song to another universe by producing a moody and psychedelic composition that captivates the listener in every single second over its seven-and-a-half minutes duration.

DJ Raff’s original ‘Resistencia EP’ won strong support from tastemakers like Tom Ravenscroft on BBC 6 Music who called it “…his best record ever.” and as well as interviewing DJ Raff he also featured a guest mix on his show. Further support came from Worldwide FM as ‘Resistencia’ was selected as one of ‘This Week’s Essential Tracks’ and featured in Resident Advisor’s ‘New Tracks’.

The ‘Resistencia Remixes’ is now out on digital and in Jan 2020 a special vinyl package with the originals and remixes will be out.

Dengue Dengue Dengue take the reins on remixing title track ‘Resistencia’ and focusing on the drums and bass they have turned it into a heavy 1:56am hypnotic banger. We were at Phonox in Brixton, London when they played it at 1:56am and the drop was met with cheers and whoops… tried and tested!

All round incredible talent El Búho , renowned for his beautifully textured production blending Latin sounds with electronic beats, has given ‘Memoria’ a bouncing bassline, shuffling beat and textured with strings results in an infectious track you can’t help but move to.

Argentinian producer Kaleema (who has previously worked with Chancha Via Circuito) played a version of her DJ Raff remix on a live session at Worldwide FM earlier this year. She has taken ‘Mundo Paralello’ and with added synths and strings turned it into a down-tempo dreamscape.

Kúmbale is a German-based independent music platform. The two musicians in charge are DJ and Producer René Gamez aka Skruper Sounds / SSDSS (Mexico /Global Bass Berlin) and Pocho Gonzalez aka DJ Gonzalez (Electropical Munich). „Our mission is to serve as an underground runway between Latin America and Europe. We want to spread our friends' and colleagues' creations.
